Felicity was curled on the ground. She was shivering and her face was read from cold and crying. She had early symptoms of frostbite and hypothermia.

Aela gasped and rushed over.

"Felicity? Felicity!" she said as she took in the physical condition of the younger girl.

"Goodness, let's get you inside; you're half-frozen!"

She didn’t respond. She was practically limp.

"Felicity?" she said gently. "Hey, you need to get up. You can't stay out here."

Felicity finally looked up at her. Aela’s worry brought a little color back to her lips. Her eyes were red, and tear trails flowed down her cheeks.

Aela stood there for a moment, then wrapped her arms around Felicity's frozen shoulders.

"Felicity . . . what happened?"

“M-m-m-m-y…d-d-d-a-a-d-d-“

She wasn't quite sure what Felicity was saying.

"What was that? I didn't- can you stand? You really need to get out of the cold . . ."

She slowly stood up, at one point losing her balance and falling into Aela. Once she fully stood and regained her balance, she still leaned against her for warmth.

Wait, don’t you draw strength from the cold, and thus aren’t harmed by it?

"Here, come on," she said softly, leading Felicity slowly back to her room. Once they got there, she helped Felicity up onto the the bed and wrapped a blanket around her shoulders. She climbed up on the bed and sat behind her, wrapping her arms around the younger girl to help warm her up.

She’s attuned to emotion, not cold.

Oh. I’d thought that she was a servant of intellect for some reason.

Tears began streaming once more. It made her head ache, but her heart ached more.

I’d meant to - and it did help her hypothermia earlier

She’s still going to be nonverbal for a while though

Aela gently put her own hand over Felicity's.

"What happened?" she asked again.

She sobbed again and looked down. Even though she wasn’t frostbitten or hypothermic anymore, it would still be hard to get answers from her.

Realizing just that, Aela removed her hand and continued to sit with Felicity until she was ready.

After another few minutes, her crying began to slow. Eventually she stopped breathing so suddenly, and she fiddled with a lock of her hair.

She ran her fingers over Felicity's back comfortingly.
