Herald Shardplate?

Did Heralds have Shardplate? We know that Shardblades were inspired by Honorblades, so where did Shardplate come from? (the reason I ask is cause Taln's official art suggests he is wearing Plate.)

We don't know, but there isn't much that would suggest they had a Shardplate. Kalak in Prelude said nothing about it and Jezrien's clothes were covered in blood so they most likely didn't have any Shardplate. Only Nale had a Shardplate and that's because he is a 5th Ideal Skybreakers (and he wasn't wearing it even during a battle).

Almost certainly not unfortunately; the spren were emulating the honorblades when shardblades were created from their bodies. We simply don't have an equivalent name for Heraldic armor compared to their weapons. To pull ten suits of honorplate out of the aether would be...peculiar at this point...

No...I believe that the Heralds were always unarmored, and shardplate was an innovation of the spren that was developed as a direct result of their observation of how the Heralds' vulnerability, despite being one of their greatest strengths, had left them ravaged and damaged to their very souls after countless ages of fighting to protect others...
