(Something about my Aviar being all alone out there)

Quote

It had its powers taken, I think. Something something happened to it. I’ll have to check

Also

The Greenspine's yellow eyes brightened from behind a nearby bush, pupils dilating. The hunger... it was overwhelming. So many tributes... all in one place... tired out from fighting... perfect opportunity... Droplets of saliva slid down the leaves and branches of the bush and darkened the dirt beneath it.”

Finally, that’s what I wanted to hear. You’re a beast, nature incarnate! Not some toy of the gamemakers.

Aerol felt sick. Why did this feel worse than killing that tribute had?

It just . . . it was so helpless.

Reef landed on her shoulder and cooed comfortingly.

@Uninteligenius

From the aviar flying out to the shoot of the shardspear, it had all happened too quickly. Evan just now made the connection that the aviar being there meant that there was a tribute nearby. He began to search through the nearby foliage, careful to avoid any insects or animals that could end him.

She straddled the treeline carefully.

Obligatory hungry Greenspine reminder to remind people to continue the RP!!!!

You know, the Greenspine thought, If no one here is fighting at all, I might as well just jump in and eat them all. Its stomach loudly rumbled.

"Hello," it said from the bushes. "Please hurry or I will eat you! The Gamemakers don't want me to, but I will!"

Murr raised his shield in the direction of the others and froze, aware of their presence thanks to the bond.

Evan jumped, startled by the mysterious voice. He doubled down his search through the nearby foliage because frankly, he didn't want to get eaten. Evan thought he saw something reflective in the bushes at the edge of the clearing.

"Do you see that?" he thought to Aerol, pointing to what seemed to be some piece of metal standing upright in the nearby bushes.

The Greenspine rumbled quietly. Don't you want your body back? If I disobey the Gamemakers now, they'll ice me, and you by extension. If I wait for an opportunity to escape, we can find a way to get your body back... And get you out of my head.

A good point… but maybe with enough brute force, you could get them to do it for you.

So, you're saying I should eat everyone, and then what?

Dunno! Right now, you’re the one with a fleshy brain. I’m piggybacking!

The Greenspine narrowed its eyes at the tributes. Eat everyone, then... escape in the chaos? But how did it escape? It had swum around the entire perimeter of the arena over the course of the games by now, and hadn't been able to find any exits. Maybe...

Anything the Greenspine could have spotted that it could remember right now?

@Spark of Hope

Any time its body had gone too far from tributes, it felt excruciating pain and had to turn back.

If you eat them all, they’ll permanently be with you! And so you’ll be able to move freely!

Ah, yes, the pain. No, the Greenspine wasn't too fond of it. I ate you, it thought, and that didn't help. What if I take a tribute alive? Knock them unconscious, tie them to myself with vines, then resist the urge to eat them and try not to drown them? It sounded pretty ridiculous, but it could hypothetically work.

Yea, that would work. Why do they gotta be alive? Maybe there is something tracking them that breaks down when you eat them.

Im not sure Berin is helping

The pain started to ripple through it. Did it really want to risk it?

Well it would make the plot more interesting if the Greenspine kidnapped a tribute and tried to escape with them. Think of the interactions, the danger!

Berin started to eat the pain, which was a strange graphic. Some sort of shock collar!

What the hell? the Greenspine thought, picturing Berin eating the pain in his mind, then vomiting it back out.

Look, I'm going to wait until these tributes fight each other, then I'll eat the loser and kidnap the winner. Sound good?
