Evan thought he heard something moving in the bushes ahead, coming towards them.

"Do you hear that?" he asks, turning to Aerol.

Evan raised his tomahawk and slowed his breathing, trying to ready himself for the fight to come.

@Through The Living Glass

Murr stumbled to a stop before coming out into the open.

That could be arranged…

Evan and Aerol heard a roar. It was close.

She tensed.

@Through The Living Glass

She raised her Shardspear warily.

Yeah . . .

He wasn't visible through the foliage yet, but he hadn't been quiet on the approach. If Evan and Aerol kept an eye out, they could spot an Aviar watching from the treetops.

Murr raised his shield in the direction of the others and froze, aware of their presence thanks to the bond. Part of him knew that despite that, his advantage in this position was slim to non-existent, but his head spun, and it was so much easier to just stay here, still, not attacking or retreating.

Aerol's bird shields from life sense btw

Well, in that case, she whipped her weapon towards the sounds in the foliage.

Not life sense, the bird is providing his vision

There was no further sound.

The Aviar attempted to dodge, but the shot caught it in the wing. It promptly fell to the ground, one wing now drained of color and useless. It screeched again, seemingly in rage, as it got onto its feet.

She walked over to it and kicked it over.

She felt bad, but . . . now was neither the time nor place for that.

There was no further sound or movement from the foliage. The fallen bird continued screeching.

This reminds me of the fact that Berin's crazy Aviar is still alive and out there somewhere... I'm pretty sure

She stepped on its back and grabbed a spare Shardspear to swipe through it's spine.

It went silent as its eyes burned.

From his hidden spot, Murr felt a horrible tearing sensation, like a piece of him had been wrenched away. He stifled a sob.

*cries quietly*

Aerol felt sick. Why did this feel worse than killing that tribute had?

It just . . . it was so helpless.

Reef landed on her shoulder and cooed comfortingly.

Just... don't go the wrong way when you're looking for him, or else you'll run into a hungry lil dinosaur instead
