(I'll get to the plot in a second, just let me say:)

we've really been pushing the no-magic rule for a while now . . .

So far a lot of Raven's ninja-abilities-thingy's have fallen pretty closely in the trope of eastern martial arts abilities. Often times east Asian historical stories will still have exaggerated use of ki/chi or facets of Shintoism/Buddhism that are real to the historical world, even if we don't consider them real nowadays. So raven's character phasing in and out of shadows isn't out of place.

The same could be said with April's visions--prophets are a part of the real world and always have been, but not everyone believes they're abilities and prophecy's are true. But at the time, within the culture that the prophecy was given, it was believed.

Does that make sense? So in my head I've let these things slide because a lot of time when telling a 'historical' story, we'll put in a little magic or a little religion that may not necessarily be real, but was real to the people at the time. The specific genre/technique is sometimes called magical realism

Also wit's the one who wanted that rule and he's been gone for a long time, so . . .

(And I know this isn't meant to a historical RP, but a traditional fantasy without magic is just . . . well it's pretty close to being historical, or at least historically inspired within an original world, the line is kind of blurred there because of how often fantasy pulls from history).

I'd completely understand if you guys want to stick with the no magic thing, and I'm trying to keep things within in reason . . . idk what are your thoughts?

yeah, so little things that make sense in the world have felt alright to me

I kind of need it too, because the og version of feb's character was incredibly reliant on magic, and while I'm transitioning it into more a monk thing, I can't fully take the unrealistic-ness of him out of it.

yeah, Arke is a monk in a sense. he can manipulate ki and other things, and plus, he's based off a dnd character.

February watches, and nods when he's done, "Thank you."

"I'm glad you're all being so cooperative! Hopefully we can resolve this so that it all ends quickly," February said kindly. "It's been a long day after all, who'd have thought things would turn out like this . . ."

March glanced at everyone, "I'll get it done with then."

February nodded, "Yes, best to do it first."

March turned to approach June and July, who were still standing near the doors, blocked by soldiers. July looked like he was in a bit of a daze, and June was still gripping his arm.

Less then gently, March grabbed July and pushed him towards February, ripping him out of June's grip. He let February pull him away from the doors, he still seemed shaken up.

"What are you doing?!" June asked, "Don't hurt him."

"We're not going to hurt him June," February explained, hands still on June, "He's not that one who committed murder."

June paled. He really had no way out of this.

March raised his already drawn sword.

"W-wait you can't do anything to me without challenging me to a duel first! Remember the contract?"

"I think the murder of my Father is challenge enough," March said with a cold gleam in his eyes.

February didn't contest him.

April glanced over at January and December.

@Ookla the Finwëan

January had been pacing, periodically checking the sky through window.

"We ought to go back now, they've probably finished fighting among themselves . . . I want to catch them as they start going separate ways," He said, clearly anxious about the whole thing.

December, still tied up, just shrugged.

After a few more minutes of debating with himself, he finally decided to go. Jan untied December before they left the house so the staff wouldn't be suspicious, and she didn't use the opportunity to try and run. She didn't seem particularly worried in the first place.

January lead them to his own carriage instead of Decembers, which had been hidden in a nearby grove. The new September was waiting for them there as well as a hooded coachman loyal to January.

He shoved April and December inside before helping his son climb in. Then he muttered something about fresh air and nerves before locking the door on them and joining the coachman outside.

September settled on the seat opposite December and April, and quietly started playing with the hem of his tunic.

April looked at the floor of the carriage. Technically, she was now a servant to January after her pledge. As September was his son, that put her on less-than-equal footing with him, too.

"Um . ." He said after a few minutes, "He asked me to--I'm supposed to ask you how the vision thing works, April."

December glanced at her, clearly curious about how it works as well.

"You think I care about the floor idiot?!" March yelled.

"It is true that we've cleaned blood off of it many times," February said a little too lightly. "It won't stain, no need to worry--it is nice marble though, isn't it?"

"Well, sometimes, when I sleep, I get a glimpse of the future. But usually, I can only see one or two people. When I got the vision of finding July, I saw a lot of people, but they were all gray and featureless, except for him."

he breaks June's arm over his knee, in such a way that it maximizes pain but is easy to reset.
