He dodged her blow and drew his sword, realizing her under-estimated her.

He then swung his sword down on her shoulder as she turned to go.

She spun to the side and embedded her knife in the man's shoulder.

After a few minutes, they left the city and rode out into the country side, past shadowy farmland.

Arke gives October a flat look, then dislocates his shoulder to throw February over him.

October grins at him.

February jerks back so the throw doesn't go all the way through and they crash to the ground, February on top of him.

He managed to block it, but just barely, the knife skidding down his blade.

He shoves her away, hoping she'd loose her footing.

She did not, in fact, and threw the knife at his neck.

She said nothing, but eventually calmed down. Her hands folded on her lap and she zoned out looking out the window.

He dodges out of the way, a little stunned, and the knife clatters to the ground.

He grabs Februarys legs and follows through.

Soon they turned off the main road, pulling down a long gravel drive that lead between hills.

At the end was a large multi-floor building with a flat roof, it'd been built in the northern style, making it feel out of place.

(This is one of February and December's residences, because the emperor trusts them a lot he lets them live outside of the palace here, and of course up north were they're primarily in charge. April will have been here before on a few required social calls, but she's not super familiar with the place).

He can't get a good grip because February is pinning him to the ground, and trying to hold his arms down.

He swung his sword at her again, this time her torso.

"Well that didn't last long," Febraury said, still on top of him.

"Wanna surrender now? That'd make my job easier."

"Like, agree to stop fighting and junk so I can fight the other guys," February explained.

"It's probably for the best, Arke, I don't want you to get hurt," August said from were he was being held down.

YEAH BUT IT'S NOT REALISTIIIIIIIC

*sad*

I get it though ^_^

She pulled her knife out of the guard's arm, grabbed the sword, ran it (the sword, not the knife) through his leg, and then ran after June and July.

She scooped up the knife she'd lost on her way out.

if it helps you, the palace guards are probably very well trained and know what they're doing . . . but I understand . . .

(also dang, Niamh had zero hesitation)

She runs right into March, who still has June and July trapped at the end of the hall.

"Who's this one again?"

okiiii

December gave April the option to use a guest room to clean up and calm down for a bit if she wanted.

Now, December sat in the main sitting room of the house, cross legged by a low table. The walls and floor were covered in detailed rugs, and the furniture was carved with intricate patterns.

She'd changed out of her ceremonial armor and into some more comfy looking robes. Her hair was down now too, falling in a long black curtain around her shoulders. She was reading a book, and had a steaming tea cup next to her.

She took a bath and changed, leaving her hair uncovered. She sat on the windowsill in the guest room and braided a lock of her hair. Even though she was alone now, her face remained emotionless.

Hey, the guard isn't dead . . .

At least not yet. Maybe blood loss though . . .

Niamh sighed and put her knives away. She hadn't noticed March running after June and July.

"I don't want any trouble."

lol if he's alive then he's probably making more noise

"Okay, you just took down one of my men which implies otherwise, but whatever."

March glanced at June and July, before turning back to her.

"I'd recommend surrendering, you're vastly outnumbered."

A maid helped her, and made sure she had everything she needed before leaving.
