The door opened, and he came inside. As he closed the door behind him she could see more then the normal amount of guards outside. He certainly wasn't 'roaming free.'

August had changed clothes and gotten cleaned up in the short time after arriving. He seemed so different now that he was back in expensive clothing and his hair was combed. Smaller, maybe.

"How are you?"

Her eyes saddened, seeing the guards. Upset as she was that he'd left, she'd loved seeing independence on him.

"I... I've been better."

"Hmm. I'm from a village by the coast, I'm here to protect my friends, and they behaved quite well. They were good friends."

"Ugh, boring." She looks at the clock "Oh, I should probably go now. I'm not supposed to be here . Bye-Bye new friends!" She looks up at Arke "Bye ceiling friend! Have fun up there!" She skips out of the room and as she leaves there's a glint of metal visible in her back bow.

She barked a laugh.

"I take back what I said earlier; I like you!" she chuckled.

His blush deepened. "W-why?"

"Yeah, me too," He replied with a chuckle, moving to sit on the edge of her bed. "But this'll all blow over in a little while."

She wiped her eye before it could get too wet. "How's July."

"He's . . . still upset. The restrictions on him are a bit tighter at the moment, he can't leave his room. Hopefully at the hearing tonight I can convince Father to go easy on him."

She wiped her eye again, quickly. "Hopefully," she echoed.

She chuckled some more. "You're funny- but in really honest way. It's nice."

"Not because you heard me play a few days ago?" He looked at the floor again.

He noticed her touching her face. "It's okay to cry Jae, I know this is hard."

The first of several sobs shook her shoulders, but she kept them quiet. She hugged August's waist.

He pulled her into a hug and gently rubbed her back.

"Things will turn out, don't worry."

"I feel terrible," she said quietly.

"It's not your fault, you were only doing what you had too--I've taken the same path many times."

"And does July feel the same?"

"He . . . he's not angry at you, not really. Maybe he blames you know but with time he'll understand that you aren't the person keeping him here. July has too big of a heart to hate you over this."

"... are you sure?"

"Yeah, of course he's upset while everything's still fresh but he'll come around."

"Well . . . that was nice, but that's not generally something I value in other people."

" . . . . . . . . . Why? It's the only thing I'm good at."

She leaned against his side. "I don't know if I'd be able to handle it if he doesn't..."

"He will, I promise."

"Do you think they'd let us in to see him?"

"Maybe after the hearing tonight, it was already hard to get them to let me talk to him."

3 minutes ago, Through The Living Glass said:

"Surely it's not the only thing."

"I mean . . . sort of." He seemed a little embarrassed of this fact. "It's not like I was taught how to do anything else."

He nodded. "I'm sure Father will let him have more freedom after we explain what happened to him."

"Well, what else are you good at?"

"Nothing," June replied, "Well . . . you just said you thought I was funny but I don't really know what else besides that." He pulled his legs up to sit cross legged on the sofa, thinking.
