hollyhartranft Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 Hello folks, My name is Holly. I'm that horrid little geek-out girl with her fingers glued to some form of fantasy and sci-fi fiction, creating reasoning behind the lights going out - aside from the obvious squirrel in the power box - and debating with others whether an elf's immortality is really immortality or not. True story. I'm a fan of elves, elves, elves and well - more elves! I also like dragons, as well as other fantasy things - give me fantasy and watch me go! I've not been an avid or decent writer growing up, but I typically could spin an interesting tale or two. I was known on the bus for telling stories and I seemed to keep folks attention. So now, thanks to a lot of encouragement, I've taken up writing as more than a hobby. I have great hope that I'll be a professional writer. Currently, I'm 25 and attending Full Sail University online for Creative Writing for Entertainment, while being a full time mother of 3 bewitching little girls and a Army wife in my new desert home. Yes, I live in a desert. There is sand, sand, a tumble weed or two, sand, hills, rocks - oh and sand! It is conducive to writing but not such a great thing for my social skills. As if they were not already lacking. I'm also a gamer. What geek girl isn't? I'm an Xbox Achivo gal, I've played World of Warcraft, Ragnarok Online, LotR Online and I'm giving Star Wars and Diablo 3 a good once over. I've also played a small amount of DnD. I came into the game late. As always. I'm also a pretty avid reader. Growing up, I read books that my mother influenced me to read, such as murder mysteries. Eventually, I got around to Fantasy and Sci-fi books and I am now currently reading a good plethora of books (at once) because I can. Loving them all! If you can't tell, I grew up on Sci-fi and shows like Star Trek, Earth 2, Murder She Wrote and the unoriginal Star Wars with KFC trend. Family night was always so interesting. I draw, too. Not well, mind you, but there is a DeviantArt account here somewhere. As I said, I'm an aspiring writer, with a rather blah blog that I started just recently. (Blogs are really a lot more difficult than I had thought). I stumbled onto Writing Excuses, per a friend's suggestion and I have been listening like an addict. It lead me here. I'm going to be spending a lot of time reading the forums and getting to - hopefully - know some of you a lot better. Be it through writing or through reading and conversation, I look forward to spending my late hours here! -Holly -
