Nesh he/him Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 (edited) Okay so I want to live up to my username here, and make a Mistborn/Star Wars crossover. Now I've got a general timeframe for Mistborn, some time during Well of Ascension. That just makes the most sense to me as a Force User would likely be able to sense a pooling of Shardic energy. The problem here is the Star Wars half of things. What era should I place it in? Prequel trilogy, Original Trilogy, somewhere in-between, New Republic, ancient past? Then there's the question of who to send. That's what I need you guys for. What era do you think I should use? What Force Users should I send to Scadrial? When in Well of Ascension should they land and where? Should I send Mistborn characters into the Star Wars setting at some point? I can't wait to hear your opinions and I'll post the fic on the forums as I work on it. Edited April 13, 2012 by Mistborn Jedi
Zas678 he/him Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 I think that this sounds like an awesome idea. First off, I think that the populace's favorite people are always from the Original Trilogy. And that could have some nice perspective- saying "Look- this is what you have to look forward to if you win! Yaaaaay." Plus there's the whole "Kelsier had to sacrifice himself to defeat the Dark Lord" They may not be too happy about that. And Leia might be like "Wait, we were supposed to start a religion? Darn it! All those lessons about how to turn your hair into cinnamon buns down the drain!" Plus the fact that R2 & C3PO would freak people out. Unless they went to the Homeland. They could chill there without too much worry. As for sending someone into the other universe? I'd really like to see what Kelsier could do in 5 years time in the Star Wars Universe. Especially considering that The Emperor isn't nearly as overpowered as TLR is. (I bet that Kelsier would rather face a Death Star than Compounding any day of the week). So yeah! That's my two cents. I'm excited.

I'm excited. I'm a little hesitant to start in the events of the Original Trilogy. The sequence of events in that part of the timeline is a little tight for it. I could start a little earlier, we've got some intriguing characters in the Force Unleashed games that could wok well, especially considering it would like be the Sith after the power of the Well. Plus in gives us a couple years for Star Wars butterflies.
Aeshdan he/him Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 Have Kelsier go into the beginning of Episode 3 and kill Palpatine. No Palpatine, Anakin doesn't fall into darkness, and they all live happily ever after.
lil_literalist he/him Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 If you didn't care as much about disrupting the canon of either universe, then I'd advise you to go with the characters from the OT, set a few years after RotJ (but before Han and Leia get married), to make it interesting. If you'd prefer to use your own Jedi characters and insert them without contradicting canon, then you'd probably be best off with a random Jedi Knight and Padawan during the time of the Clone Wars.

Oh Mistborn canon is going to be shredded by this contact. I'm just thinking a Sith is more likely to ivestigate the Well. I'm leaning toward Starkiller.
Aradel he/him Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 (edited) I'm more of the go big or go home guy when doing crossovers. A Sith could show up a few years before TFE, scuffle with TLR when investigating the well, escape with his life, and report to the whole freaking Sith Empire! The Lord Ruler could easily hold his own against three or four Sith Lords at once, if he can push away their lightsabers. I also think having Kelsier work as a Sith slave instead of in the pits would be great way for him to snap offworld, train as a mistborn alongside the Jedi, and fight to free Scadrial from the Sith; ending up as an ally of TLR against their common enemy. ...okay, I mostly only wonder what it would be like if Kel joind forces with TLR. Can you blame me? Edited April 27, 2012 by Goradel's Nephew

Can you blame me? Imagine if Kesier wasn't just a Mistborn but Force Sensitive as well. Allomantic Jeedi are a rather broken affair, I've tried them in RPs. Mistborn in general tear Force Users a new one. The idea does sound cool but it's a little deep into Star Wars for m knowledge base but I'd totally read it if someone wrote it.
lil_literalist he/him Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 I dunno, Force-users have warnings from the Force, so they would be able to avoid dying too quickly. Anything they can't dodge, they would probably be able to deflect with the Force.
Aradel he/him Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 Yet lightsabers contain metal (they can't avoid being battery powered) and thus Mistborn deny them their deadliest weapon. Terrisborn would really thrash a jedi though: "I'll match your Inhuman Reflexes, and raise you Superhuman Speed." *Jedi folds* ... *Literally!*
Nesh he/him Posted April 27, 2012 Author Posted April 27, 2012 I dunno, Force-users have warnings from the Force, so they would be able to avoid dying too quickly. Anything they can't dodge, they would probably be able to deflect with the Force. This is true, howver such danger sense could be counter by Atium, or even electum. The main power of a force user is telekenesis, this is (imperfectly but still effectively) matched by iron and steel. They have enhanced physical attributes but nothing pewter doesn't match and exceed. Lightsabers are a practal non factor due to metal hilts. Each system has advantges over the other but in a Mistborn vs Force User fight my money is usually on the Mistborn. It would be an awesome fight though, close, usually. Now a Mistborn trained in the ways of the Force.... That's almost Lord Ruler-type power.
