Well...hello there!

Interested in fast moving roleplay? Death? Romance? Tragedy? GM drama? Well, you've come to the right place!

Here, we host Sanderson-themed hunger games! Sometimes they're a blast, sometimes they're...less of a blast, but they've all had some wonderful moments, and really, what you put in is what you get out!

Haven’t read The Hunger Games? No problem! All we’re doing is putting a group of children, between ages 12 and 18, into an arena, where they fight to the death! But with Sanderson themed powers! It’s great!!

Never played before? Also no problem! Each games has almost entirely new characters, excepting the GM’s. But we’ll explain our characters for you. It’s always easy to jump in!

So...rules, ratings, advice?

The most important thing is to remember that we're here to have fun, and we're here for the stories! The GM's aren't perfect, and sometimes...well, sometimes shades and delvers punch people. If you spend the entire games looking for flaws, well, you'll certainly find them, but what you won't find is fun. And magic, because stories really are magic (I will fight you on this). So...come and enjoy yourself!

Other rules...well, pretty typical etiquette, mostly. No godmodding, be courteous, try not to spoil books, and if you have to die...well, there's a pretty good chance you're going to die, so...go out with a bang! Before each games, we post a sign-up thread with a character sheet. Just fill out the character sheet, and you're in! If you'd like to play a non-tribute character, PM the GM's and we'll work something out with you! Having relationships with other characters is awesome; giving your character backstory makes them funner for everyone! If something happens and you need to drop out, that's just fine, but please, please, please let us know so that the games keep moving.

All RP should follow these ratings. Since these are, well, children fighting each other to the death, they can get quite violent. Just try to remember the ratings, especially for romance and swearing.

And advice...hmm...if we have a games themed around a Sanderson book you aren't familiar with it, we still want you! You can try to read really fast, look at the coppermind, or create a character without magic! We're happy to answer any questions you have. Oh, and always stab first, we like it when you fight.

Beyond that...if you have questions or suggestions, feel free to PM @Ancient Elantrian, @SmilingPanda19, or myself! We really enjoy these games, and hope that we'll be able to bring you many more!

Happy hunger games, my friends, and may the odds be never  in your favor!

How to navigate the Hunger Games Threads:

HELLO! I see you have found yourself suddenly intrigued in the mass murder of children! Now that you have gained this sudden interest, you must be overwhelmed by the sheer amount of stuff here. FEAR NOT MY YOUNG APPRENTICE! SOON YOU SHALL BE A MASTER!

TO BEGIN:

Each Hunger Games is split into a few parts:

First: the Sign Ups thread. This is where you can sign in and fill out a character sheet for the next games.

Second: the Pre-Hunger Games RP. Only a few games have this so be warned it is still kinda in a beta phase. This RP will involve all the things that happen before the games start.

Third: THE GAMES!!! These are the main attraction, each one starts with the moment the tributes enter the arena. The games are split into two subplots:

  • The Games. This is all the tributes fighting it out to the death. They will kill each other, and it makes us happy!
  • The Gamemaker (GM)* Drama! This is where us GMs sit in our big penthouse apartments and run the games, all while murdering each other AND forming convoluted romances!

Of course, you may feel like you’ve been thrown into a massively developed plot you have no time to read hundreds of pages for. Guess what? We’ve solved your problem for you!

There is a link to a google doc below. This doc goes through all the summarization of EVERY Hunger Games! (Thank you SO MUCH to all you people who helped compile that!) While knowing all the plot isn’t necessary, it’s still good to know!**

We also have a chat thread, for people to discuss the hunger games, request to be a GM, and give us advice/suggestions. There is also a Memes thread for people to use their creative prowess to make us roll on the floor laughing our heads off.

I hope this guide helps you out in your navigation of our wonderful games, and may the odds be NEVER in your favor!

-ELAN

*GMs are who help build, plan, and run the games. Without them, NONE of this would be possible! The three main GMs, ones who are always up top helping run the games, include myself, @Edema Rue, and @SmilingPanda19. Every games also has around 1-3 temporary GMs, who act as a gamemaker for one game only. We pick these temporary GMs before each game (off of a massive ever-growing list of people who have asked us to be a GM).

**Doc currently unfinished.
