The Queen watched passively, hands clasped, as TAAron struggled. Her face devoid of emotion, silently, not taking any action. 

Another voice enters the insanity, this one louder, clearer. You have no understanding of what you've entered. What you came here to take. Pure chaos. What I make into peace. Freedom. Order.

She pulled him into an embrace. “You were scared,” she said quietly. “You could have. You know that now. But that’s not who you are anymore.”

As TAAron sat there, he felt something begin to change. The onslaught, which moments before had been crippling, lessened. Not because he had any less awareness, but his mind seemed to shift, expanding. The experiences of trillions were kept tenuously separate from his operating mind. It was still brutally overwhelming, but not debilitating. He sat up and met the Queen's eyes.

For the first time in their interaction, just for a split second, a look of pure shock passed over her face. Then it was gone. "How does it feel?"

Just to clarify because I don't know how much of Elan and my exchange you read, what Haly briefly felt was like what she feels from TAAron, but from trillions of different people at once. It only lasted a spilt second before he cut it off, and now for all she knows whatever happened hurt or killed him.
