"Oh. Well . . . are you the only one down here? Usually, I mean."

He nodded. “There are some people in some rooms, but… shadows, you know.”

"But . . . with you. In the same space as you, like I am right now. Is there anyone else like that?"

He frowned. “Oh—I don’t believe so. I’ve never run into another one.”

"What about the person who showed you this place? You mentioned them briefly."

"Oh, yeah. Her." She paused.

"Wait, was that the girl we found earlier?"

She looked at it. "Oh. So . . . that's real, then?"

“It’s a shadow. But we could interact with the people on board if you want.”

“Yup!” He waved at the ship.

She felt kind of weirded out by that, but was also curious . . .

"Well . . . sure. Why not?"

The ship turned toward them.

“What do you think they’re doing? Fishing, maybe?”

"No idea," she shrugged.

"Maybe they're just out on the ocean."

The boat drew nearer. An old man leaned out. “What are you kids doing out here? The storm’s coming!”

Aora blinked.

"Wait . . . I thought you said they couldn't see us . . . ?" she asked Vey, standing.

He frowned. “I… didn’t think they could.”

“Git up here before you get swept away,” the man bellowed.

"Should we . . . we should probably just go back into the hallway . . ." she said quietly.

“I guess,” Vey agreed reluctantly.

Just now, Through The Living Glass said:

"Er- well . . ." she looked back at the little beach house . . . place.

"I guess maybe we could . . ."

“Stick around?” He asked hopefully.
