They heard a knock on the door of the infirmary.

Seeing that everyone else was busy, she used one arm to stabilize her torso and the other to lean on the wall. When she got to the door, she used her wall hand to open it.

Ash nodded. "If she likes music it could."

Pic nodded, and was about to say something, but watched Aventine being painstakingly make her way across the hall. "I'll do that in a little bit," he replied, hurrying over to Aventine's side.

Pic quickly wrapped an arm around her, and held her tight so she was supported. "Sorry for no music," he hummed. "I don't want to set the small one off."

"Thanks," she said, her voice a little higher pitched than usual.

A man she had never seen before stood there. He was very tall, with brown hair and striking green eyes. He wore simple, light clothing that would be suitable for springtime or summer. At his side, there was a sheathed dagger.

"Hello." His voice was somewhat soft.

Does Pic recogenize his voice from earlier conversation?

No, that was Death speaking. Though Lerac was the one who whistled before. I don't know if he could recognize that.

Would his presence feel at least vaguely familiar?

"I'm better than I was a couple days ago, at least. I had to fight some Inquisitors trying to save someone, and I got thrown at the wall. Had a concussion, a couple broken ribs, one shattered one, a broken leg... They're all 90% healed thanks to Ash, but I'm supposed to stay here another day." Her eyebrows furrowed. "I don't think I recognize you... are you new to the clinic?"

"No." He paused. "I might be able to help with your injuries. May I?" He held out a hand as though to touch her arm.

Huh. She looked at his hand for a moment before reaching her arm out. "Sure."

He may notice the scars on her arms, but leave those

Jar Man holds the bottle threateningly.

He grazed her arm with his fingertips, and immediately a rush of warmth flooded her. It was immediately familiar as the sensation they had felt earlier in the infirmary, only lacking the conflicting cold. The man inhaled sharply as though from a sudden shock or pain, then withdrew his hand. The warmth dissipated, and all that remained of her injuries was gone.

Wait.

She could get to the sensation in a moment - he'd sounded like something had hurt him. "What happened? Are you okay?"

Jar Man just opens the cap to his liquor and takes a swig in response.

"Just a consequence of my healing. It used to be that I felt a portion of someone's pain, but now it seems I feel all of it... several times over." He winced.

She made a face like she'd smelled something bad. She took off one of her boots and threw it at the bottle, which shattered.

"You're welcome."

"Do you want to sit down?"

"No. It's only a brief thing. Is there anyone else that needs assistance?"

"Okay. I think we're good in terms of physical injury, for now. Thanks."

He nodded. Aventine noticed that the motion seemed to leave behind a faint glow, or afterimage.
