I really do. It's going to be alright." @Experience "I love you too, Erin." Mike managed to reply through his tears. ... Mike found himself walking alongside his father. He was a magnificent man, though many thought crazy was a more accurate description. They were in a narrow cavern. The walls were metallic and reflected the soft yellow glow caused by lanterns placed intermittently along the path. Michael's father was taller than Mike by a few inches, though Mike was sure he'd catch up within a year. His father had always claimed he never would never see a day when he was shorter than Mike. Michael's father looked down at his son, a proud smile lighting his face. "I have been waiting for this day for a very long time, Michael." Mike looked up at his father quizzically. "What do you mean, father? What's so special about today?" "Today you wi-" No. Something isn't right. Michael's father looks to the place where Mike is. Not his past self, but where his consciousness was being projected. "Hello, Michael. I see you have come to visit me again." He smiles. "...Father?" Michael replies. "Is this... real?" "Yes, Michael. As real as the day it happened. You jus-" No. Michael shakes his head, eyes closed. I can't see this. Not again. Michael imagines a brick wall forming in between him and the rest of the scene laid out before him. The pain begins to fade. ... Michael breathed out slowly. He had returned back to reality, and...Erin was in his arms. That felt right. He glances around and saw canyon walls around them. How did we get here? He considered asking Erin, but decided against it. He simply held them in a tight embrace, enjoying the moment he had found himself in.

And then I thought I'd failed anyway..." Quote Not right now. He's basically blocked off the memories completely, just like he has with other traumatic events earlier in his life. He'll probably begin to pick up that somethings off and he'll eventually figure out he blocked something off, but it'll be really hard for him to actually remember cuz it's basically a really unhealthy coping mechanism. Mike thinks back to their time in the forest. "No Erin, you could never fail me. It was...the most wonderful thing."
