Emerik eyed Abihal curiously, he began to roll his coin over his fingers again. "Sometime I would be quite happy to have a conversation about that dagger mentioned by Par."

“Sure. I guess.” The idea made her nervous.

"You just... happen to be by big mansions? And crime lords?"

To anyone paying attention, faint shouts of alarm could be heard. Suddenly, the fireplace and the candles that lit the room went out, leaving everyone in it in darkness.

Abihal did the same, then enhanced her hearing. Using her perfect memory of the room, she made her silent way to the door, then used a match to light a torch so the others could see. “Come on.”

Abihal followed, staying well back and keeping her hearing up several notches while masking her own sounds from anyone else.

Emerik called back to the faint noise he heard behind him, assuming someone was there "If anyone's back there, watch for anything coming up from behind."

A shrill scream suddenly echoed around the castle. A moment later, the lights re-lit themselves.

Abihal straightened, then dashed toward the sound of the scream, making absolutely no noise, as per her magic.

Startled, Emerik lowered the now unlit dagger, but kept it in his hand, and as silently as he could crept toward where the sound had come from.
