Is there a way to do drafts instead of editing the actual pages

Sometimes I do mistakes during editing, and then I have to re edit them, which isn't really awesome (as Lift would say). So is there a place where I can edit freely without changing the main page until I'm sure how to do it perfectly?

There are two things that can help. One is before you go to save your edit, hit the "show preview" button that's right next to "save changes." Then you can see what the page (or that section of the page) will look like with your new edit and can go back and fix anything you see that's still wrong before you publish the changes.

For larger projects, for now you could go to your talk page, and you should be able to create that page. Just copy over content from any mainspace page you're wanting to edit, and you can change it up freely there without affecting the page people will see. When you're happy with it, then just copy it from your talk page back to the actual article.
