Why are modern copies of Mistborn Era 1 not using the Steel Alphabet fonts in older printings? My FE, WoA, and HoA all use the same version of the Steel Alphabet, when they should be using different ones. Why exactly is that? Anyone else having the same issue? And what copies (still-on-market) can I find that still do it correctly, if any?

It just, really bothers me.

Hi Firesong! Which editions are you referring to that have all the same versions of the Steel Alphabet?

EDIT: Aha, I've figured this out. The paperbacks from 2009 or so do have the proper progression of the symbols. However, the 2019 paperbacks do not have that, nor do the 2014 trade paperbacks. Massive bummer. Why would they do that?

The 2009 era paperbacks are very hard to find new, but you can get them used.

Perhaps even most notably, the leatherbounds do not do this either.

I wonder if the newer UK editions still have this. The older ones do.

I can't believe I've never noticed this before.

Mine are the 2019 it seems, yeah. Would help if some fans in other countries were to check their newer copies (particularly UK, given that while I can sorta speak Spanish and Japanese, I am only fluent in English) , I wonder if this is just a weird Tor thing.
