Sherlock Holmes he/him Posted September 2, 2022 Posted September 2, 2022 Hello! This September, I am participating in a challenge where you draw a sword by a certain theme every day. I'll post my artworks here, and if anyone else wants to participate, you can post yours here too! Below is the list of prompts. Feel free to mess around with them if you want to. Here's my day one: 3
Going_North_cal Posted September 2, 2022 Posted September 2, 2022 wooooooah swordtember. i might participate... prob not every day but this is a cool idea. also that crystal sword looks siiiiick! looks like smth Hazel Levesque would use.
Sherlock Holmes he/him Posted September 2, 2022 Author Posted September 2, 2022 Thanks! I don't know who that is, but I thought it said Havel, so I'll roll with that. Havel puts away that obnoxious hammer and uses my dinky little sword instead. 1
Sherlock Holmes he/him Posted September 3, 2022 Author Posted September 3, 2022 Day two, made while watching Princess Mononoke. If you haven't seen it, go watch it immediately. 3

Sherlock Holmes he/him Posted September 3, 2022 Author Posted September 3, 2022 Rock candy sword, pft. Thanks for the compliment, as well. 1
The Unknown Medallion he/him Posted September 3, 2022 Posted September 3, 2022 Oooo, I'll probably do this. Might post then here or in a separate thread, or not all though.

Zephrun’s Imperium they/he Posted September 3, 2022 Posted September 3, 2022 Ooooo. I could not draw that stuff, lol.
Sherlock Holmes he/him Posted September 3, 2022 Author Posted September 3, 2022 Day three's sword, inspired by Sir Alonne from Dark Souls II. 1 hour ago, Zephrun's Imperium said: Ooooo. I could not draw that stuff, lol. I invite you to try, it's fun even if you're just learning. 3

Sherlock Holmes he/him Posted September 3, 2022 Author Posted September 3, 2022 Just now, The Unknown Novel said: How are you making those? Digital drawing, or something else? Digital, using Photoshop. I have a Gaomon tablet. I make most of my painterly stuff with the same brush, from a brush set called "brushes_for_photoshop_by_rav89". There are like two other brushes I use for everything else. 1
The Unknown Medallion he/him Posted September 4, 2022 Posted September 4, 2022 Here's the first bit of the day one sword. I haven't colored it yet, I'm trying to decide if it's going to be living or dead krystall (something from one of my magic systems). Used a few basic phone filters to make the lines pop more and more clear. 2
Sherlock Holmes he/him Posted September 4, 2022 Author Posted September 4, 2022 Nice! Are the people who use these weapons given to wrapping their grips with cloth, or do they just deal with all the jaggedy bits?

Are the people who use these weapons given to wrapping their grips with cloth, or do they just deal with all the jaggedy bits? It depends, they are able to create small enough krystalls that it just has a grippy texture, but sometimes they just make the blade and tang and affix a handle like with normal swords.
Sherlock Holmes he/him Posted September 4, 2022 Author Posted September 4, 2022 Ah, interesting. Thanks for answering my question.
The Unknown Medallion he/him Posted September 4, 2022 Posted September 4, 2022 (edited) Ok, finished up the coloring, decided on living krystall since it gave me slightly more to work with than just shades of blue-grey. Once again used phone filters filters. I'm going to try and change the colors around with filters to make it look like dead krystall for comparison. Bluer than I would like, but it's close enough. If you'd like, I can help you get the right colours. I have Photoshop, it's a lot easier to mess around with colours and stuff. 4

Edit: Here's day two, decided to go for an ornamental sword, likely used for some ceremony. Edited September 5, 2022 by The Unknown Novel 2
Sherlock Holmes he/him Posted September 5, 2022 Author Posted September 5, 2022 Day five: bread sword 6
Sherlock Holmes he/him Posted September 6, 2022 Author Posted September 6, 2022 Amazing bread ahead 1
The Unknown Medallion he/him Posted September 6, 2022 Posted September 6, 2022 Is it bread or wheat? Here's my gear sword, complete with background and stuff because I was with an artist friend. 3
Sherlock Holmes he/him Posted September 6, 2022 Author Posted September 6, 2022 Wheat bread, I imagine, though I suppose it could be barley.
