so from what I understand lifeless are the result of flooding a corpse with loads of investiture kind of like a cognitive shadow, just reversed right? Brandon has said that night blood (the book) will be from a lifeless point of view which I think will be AMAZING. you see I think there are DIFFERENT kinds of lifeless the more investiture they have the more sentient they are. what if the lifeless we get to see was awakened by some of the five scholars using loads and loads and LOADS of breaths. the lifeless therefore is as sentient as a human maybe even more. this will give us more answers to how investiture works when flooded into existence and will probably shed light on how spren are created.

You should read Warbreaker. It is one of my favorite books.

Strictly non-spoiler correction: I wouldn't call it "loads of investiture"... It is a significant amount, though. In the early days more investiture was used to make lifeless that were apparently similarly effective. The way it is explained, it sounds like improved efficiency (similar to how you would talk about bigger more expensive computers used in the past).

I don't want to spoil Warbreaker, but pretty early on in the book... Here is a insignificant amount of spoilerness, in my opinion:

Spoiler

...you learn that ages and ages ago, one of the five scholars learned how to awaken a lifeless with a single breath. Most of, if not all of the lifeless you see in the book will be awakened with a single Breath... A Breath ~ amount of investiture a normal cosmere person is born with.

More spoilery about Nightblood's origins

Spoiler

Nightblood was flooded with investiture, though 1000x as much as a normal lifeless.

Also, just in general. I think you would need different Command and different Intent as well as LOADS of breaths for sentience.

true, but that is why it would be an experiment, also hasn't Brandon stated the book would be about Vivenna and Vasher doing stuff? what if the investiture that night blood gets is flooded into a lifeless that Vasher was creating, it would be LOADS more sentient than other lifeless and I NEED TO CONTINUE SCHOOL NOW>
