Ryan he/him Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Post your WoK fanart here! I'll get the ball rolling: (Yes, I drew this as a joke. What of it? ;D) 1
Silus - Shard of Flame he/him Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Love the tiny beards, Ryan. And it seems that Kaladin does the splits during his jumping.
Eerongal he/him Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Excellent use of perspective in making the people in the background floating above the horizon of the ground line. Nitpick, though: It takes more than 4 people to work a bridge. Other than that, great work!

Shivertongue he/him Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 So far, Ryan has posted the best Fanart on the site. As first poster of fanart, he wins the status of Global Moderator. See? You all should have been posting art...

Shivertongue he/him Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 It's not a demotion. Global Moderator and Administrator are equal. You fail for missing the joke.
Eerongal he/him Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 It's not a demotion. Global Moderator and Administrator are equal. You fail for missing the joke. In SMF, Administrators can change and tweak all board settings, where as global moderators can only moderate the boards (editing/deleting posts, banning people, etc.), and moderators can only moderate specific boards.
KChan she/her Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 But on 17th Shard, staff are staff. Our permissions on the forums might be different, but the staff are all equal. Hence Will's joke.

Hence Will's joke. Being equals in each others eyes isnt the same as equal permissions in the board's eyes. Administrator -> Global Moderator = less power in the software, meaning it would be a demotion. For example, say if i was considered "part" of the admin team. However, my board status was kept as member. While you guys would all listen to and back my opinions, judgements and ideas, i still would have to call out for help for administration purposes. As soon as my status changed to that of a global moderator, it would be a clear promotion in terms of ability. Changing from Administrator to global moderator is the opposite, a clear demotion in terms of ability, regardless of how you guys treat him

That's like having the Secretary of the Navy having equal power in the Secretary of Energy's domain. Same ranking, different domain. Excuse my french, but sorry. Perhaps these subtleties are a bit too much. Anyways, no more talk of this. Back to fan art. This is epic.
Munin he/him Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 Is that supposed to be a fierce battle-cry, or the Stormlight glowing out of his mouth?
Link Von Kelsier Harvey he/him Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 That's obviously the stormlight from their face gems.
Eerongal he/him Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 That's obviously the stormlight from their face gems. Better yet, it's a combination. It's the stormlight from their face-gems being absorbed, and being used in a stormlight-amplified fierce battle cry, shooting it back out. Pretty obvious when you think about it! ;D
Ryan he/him Posted September 13, 2010 Author Posted September 13, 2010 For the record, I was made an admin in order to help resolve the session verification error. I don't really need power over an Internet forum and would not consider it a demotion if I were made a moderator again. That said, I'm glad people like my silly stick figure drawing. 8)
Andrew the Great he/him Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 Probably the best Way of Kings Fan Art I've ever seen. Lots of competition there, too.
