Chaos he/him
So, I don't know how many Android fans there are here, but I sure love my Android phones. Android 4 was just revealed today, and it looks really sexy: http://developer.android.com/sdk/android-4.0-highlights.html It kind of makes me want to go sell my Droid 3 for a Galaxy Nexus immediately.
Eerongal he/him
yeah, i was totally watching the android news site i visit earlier waiting for the story for it to break. I was planning on waiting for nvidia's quad core chipset in phones before i upgrade, but i might just compromise and get the galaxy nexus instead. It's totally sexy.

Silus - Shard of Flame he/him
That is epic enough to solve any problem I might have had with this thread. Carry on.
Chaos he/him
I am resurrecting this thread because I am typing this on my brand new Galaxy Nexus. Loving it so far.
KChan she/her
Looks pretty nice, judging by the nice video review you gave it over skype. I'm curious to see if they'll roll it out to existing Android phones (or at least a version of it), but I'm honestly not sure how that would even work, what with the major changes to the buttons and all. They'd have to change at least that part of it.
Eerongal he/him
So since there's talk about the nexus in here, I figured I would post up that as of today a one-click root has been released. Disclaimer: if you aren't sure what i'm talking about, you probably shouldn't go through with it.
Chaos he/him
Not sure if I want to root my GNex yet. The main purpose for that, in my case, would be to get WiFi tethering for my tablet (an Eee Pad Transformer, in case anyone was wondering) with the LTE. Unfortunately, when I head back to Bozeman this weekend, I won't have LTE there for a very long time, surely. And I'll go answer Kerry's question about the virtual buttons on legacy devices (ie, devices with physical buttons), though I already told you in IM. It's simple: you don't get the virtual buttons. The benefit is that you keep a Search button. The downside is that you lose out on the multitasking button. You still get the new multitasking previews, but you have to just long press Home, like you would on 2.3 or lower devices.
Eerongal he/him
well, ya know, rooting is one of those things where if you have a need for it for any particular reason, go ahead and do it given that you understand the consequences of doing so. If you're going to root simply for the sake of rooting, you're probably making a bad choice in the first place, even if you understand the risks.
Chaos he/him
I may do some more customization and put CM9 on it, if it has some pretty compelling features. But mostly, I fixed my biggest issue with Ice Cream Sandwich (the launcher doesn't go in landscape) with Nova Launcher. Problem solved.
Eerongal he/him
heh, concerning CM, for the longest time with my phone (the samsung epic 4G) i was keeping stock (with root) waiting on CM 7 (gingerbread) to come out for it. I figured once that came out, I'd slap it on there and be good to go. I finally broke down a couple weeks ago, and assuming it would never come out for it, put a custom rom on it. The very next week, the CM team announced that CM 7 for it.was now available :-|
