I have created a Kindle dictionary from almost all the content of the Coppermind.net wiki.  It is completely free to use. All terms, places, and characters have entries from all of Brandon's books. If multiple terms and names in a phrase match on any of the terms (example: Dalinar Kholin, will match on Dalinar OR Kholin) For terms that have multiple possible matches (ex. Kholin) It will have ALL possible entries listed in order from most content to least (Sadeas entry will have Torol Sadeas first and his wife second because the page for Toral is longer)

Let me know what you guys think! Feedback is encouraged!

There is a spoiler warning when provided by the creator of the content.

I just made this therefore this copy would be spoiler free for Words of Radiance AFTER the sample chapters, and PERFECT for re-reads

THIS COPY WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS FOR ALL BOOKS PUBLISHED TO DATE AND THE SAMPLE CHAPTERS OF WORDS OF RADIANCE. IT IS NOT UPDATED DYNAMICALLY SO IT WILL NOT GET NEW INFO UNTIL I PUT UP A DIFFERENT ONE WITH DIFFERENT LINK

New permanent home on the wiki!  http://www.coppermind.net/wiki/Kindle_Dictionary

Hi dangermond! I saw your post about this on Reddit, but it seems you beat me to the punch in responding to you.

Cool that you've done this. Please just make sure to include a credit to 17th Shard, and obviously, don't sell it, or post the content here on other wikis. Otherwise, you have our blessing to do it.

Though I hope you realize what a massive task it will be to periodically update this, especially after Words of Radiance :P

At the front page of the book I do all the required License statments required by Wikimedia and the Creative Commons license and give ALL of you credit :).  And I didn't do this by hand, I wrote a program for it.  Took a few weeks but now all I have to do is provide it with the list of article names and go watch TV while it crawls the site..

Hey Dangermond, thanks for this :D

I just moved your article, I put it as a sub-page of your username since it's your personal project, and not yet an official thing? The redirect is still there, but now that it's in the user namespace it's less likely to get caught up in searches it's not meant to.

Thank you again for the effort you put into it. Please refrain from updating your dataset too often, as downloading the whole wiki could be fairly draining on our bandwidth. Also I suggest you look at the mediawiki API, it might be easier for you to parse the content wihtout having to scrape the html and removing all the horrible mediawiki skin html and stuff.

I will look into the API. Thanks!  I will keep from updating it too much. Did you guys notice any impact to your bandwidth earlier?  Also I think I am done with my page for the most part, how does it become an "official thing"? I discussed this with Chaos before creating the page.

Is it possible to make the dictionary compatible for nook readers as well? I'd love to have a coppermind dictionary.

Calibre will convert ebooks that are DRM free like this one.  what format does Nook read?

I have converted from the .mobi to .epub   you can get the file here: https://db.tt/TcBDSiGw

Thanks for the epub format. Now I just need to figure out how to use it. Initial searches suggest that I can read the dictionary, but not be able to use it in the lookup feature of the reader, where it would be most useful.

I can post an epub version of the dictionary on the wiki page if there is a demand for it, but it will only be readable not used for lookup - if anyone knows the format for making an epub work as a lookup dictionary for a Nook let me know.  I will have a new version up on the Kindle_Dictionary page soon.  It is much more extensive.

New dictionary up.  MUCH BETTER.  All articles that are not Categories, still in user sections, Books , or Our of Universe now included.  ALL redirects mapped including ones that go to subsections of a document. Quote support put in.  Formatting WAY better - full table support and bullets.  Thanks to Joe ST for pointing me toward the Wiki API.  That coupled with support for exporting allowed me to get all articles in a better format.
