Weird theory that I just came up with while on my Re-read of WoK... During Dalinar's vision at Feverstone Keep during the day of Recreance, he heard screaming that he didnt know where it was coming from. I believe this was the dying spren trapped within the Shardplate and blades while they were losing their glow. This leads me to believe that the shards themselves are created when the Knight says the 5th ideal and bonds their spren into the blade and plate, so that when the shards were abandoned, the spren were killed, thus the betrayal that decimated the spren. This is also why Syl hates shards, because they are basically the corpses of past bonded spren. I know that could all be worded better sorry, but just wanted to get this down while it was in my head.

My theory on Dalinar's boon was to have Aidolin forget his mother and his curse was to forget her too... Not sure why he would do this, maybe he accidently killed her in front of Aidolin or something, but I kept having a hard time understanding why Aidolin couldnt remember his mother.

I really dont see Elhokar, Adolin, Renarin, or Dalinar dying this book because of Kaladin's new position in the Colbalt Guard. If one of the Kholins die, the blame will be placed on the ineffective new guards that do not have much training. I think most everyone will be safe for WoR... except I like the idea of Sadeas dying and Amaram becoming the new Highprince since Sadeas does not have an heir.

This is only true on the battlefield itself... As I stated before, any competent officer is a actually a husband/wife pair. But I really do like the idea that both genders being repressed, as is specifically shown through Renarin having to give up title and freedom to be an ardent in order to pursue his interests and talents. I dont know for sure, but I always assumed that you could only bond with one sword at a time... otherwise, people would hoard them. When Dalinar and Aidolin won new shards, they gave them away, and did not keep them

Being the scientists, philosophers, historians, and artists of an entire civilization, even a warrior one is not being oppressed, i mean, they even get to be clergy...
