With Lifeless it's due to the soul being drained away, shrinking to nearly nothing. With Shard-severed limbs, that portion of the soul is sheared clean away. Q: So Alethi hair "breeds true" based on the individual's ancestry, why then does Renarin have more black than Adolin? So. I feel like I'm arriving to the party late here (both to this thread and to 17thShard in general, seeing as how I signed up hours before the Idaho Falls signing on Saturday. lol) but I thought I'd say hi: This has been a VERY interesting thread to read. I want to add my voice to thos who have already stated how nice it is to have a forum where things can be talked about openly without the negativity that seems to inevitably creep into other boards. I have some thougths on the subject myself if this conversation continues, but I'll refrain from posting them until they're coherent enough to make sense. Right now, they're just a tumble of reactions and thoughts to everything I've read here that, if I tried to type them all, would likely come out wrong and sound like Fiddlygrak (*snicker*) to everyone else. lol

Also: there was no reading. That I was disappointed about. Sorry. I asked, and...yeah. B&N said it wasn't on the schedule. Space too limited or something.

Ok. So we only got a few questions in. time was limited. Here we go: First note: I didn't get a recorder on the table. Sorry.
