I personally don't want a Gavilar PoV think it would be more fun if we were left to put events together our selfs I think the PoV's of Elhokar, Amaram and Sadeas would account for most of Gavilars movements so we can piece together the events of that night. The only thing a Gavilar PoV has going for it in my opinion is what he planned to do/did that the Parshendi feared but that only becomes necessary if none of the other PoV's are aware of them. On a side note if Amaram turns out to be one of the soldiers who flee with Sadeas a Sadeas PoV would be unnecessary unless as I suspect he is the one aware of Gavilars plans which would open up a slot.

Why are their duties and responsibilities relevant to when they were formed? As for written records surviving across desolations why not, we know works have survived desolations The way of Kings itself being a prime example I find it more remarkable that they have survived the last 4500 years than that they survived through desolations.

I see this a bit different they have access to written accounts of what happens when a desolation is near, not by necessity experience of past Radiants and almost certainly not personal experience. Its the number of surviving heralds that makes me think the Radiants were only around for the desolation in the prelude, if the radiants were around for more than one desolation I can't help but think that the last one was an elaborate trap to get the heralds to abandon the oathpact which would most likely imply a traitor amongst them, if nothing was different to previous desolations why is Taln the only herald death Kalak considered it a real possibility that he and Jezrien were the only survivors of what he describes as a furious battle one of the worst when he saw Jezrien alone at the meeting place.

Is there a WOB that says the radiants were around for more than one desolation because I personally assumed that the knights radiants were only around for the desolation in the WOK prelude, my reasoning for this is that it gives the heralds a reasonable excuse to abandon the oathpact, we are told: To me this implies something was different about this desolation and the only thing I can see is the presence of the radiants. If this was true then why was it not before to me it seems like their looking for an excuse to abandon the oathpact without leaving the world helpless.

I feel that Jasnah is the recipient of harsh judgement around here I personally feel that Kaladin's desecration of the Parshendi dead is a lot worse but gets far less if any criticism. I know this is based less on Jasnah's actions and more on how they will effect any KR ideals but how can this be considered less acceptable than Kaladin's actions?

The only way I see Shallan finding out who killed her brother (if it was him) is if Kaladin discovers the persons identity himself and is the one to tell her, in my opinion everyone else in the know as too much to lose by telling her. In the event of her finding out I think the Alethi political system would work in Kaladin's favour, the most likely beneficiary of any grudge on Shallan's part would be the Amaram as the person in command.

Was thinking more along the lines of them seeing visions of the past kinda like a seer sees visions of the future, they see what she saw but without her emotions. I agree this is most likely I just wanted to point out the possibility that they may see the truth uncoloured by the belief of the observer.

What if when their told a truth they witness the actual event as it unfolded and judge what they are told through their own observations, for example they could have seen the events of Shallans fathers death as she saw it through her eyes but without the emotions of personal involvement or details missed at the time through shock, haste or a number of other things.

Is Shallan bonded to one or more of the cryptics? She addresses more than one and although only one answers there always seems to be more than that present when she becomes aware of them, is the one answering acting as the spokesperson for the group or for itself?

I I'm new to the site i was just reading through when a question occurred to me so i thought i would go ahead and ask. Do we know how the cryptics see or know the truth? Is it the persons believe in what there saying is truth or do they somehow see deeper such as the actual event itself, for example if an adopted person unaware of their adoption gave the names of the people he believed to be his parents as a truth would this be seen as such or would they know otherwise.
