Mistrunner skids into the room, jerked back for a second by headphones. She picks herself up and takes them off. "Sorrysorrysorry I'm always late, aren't I? I was listening to Owl City... and... muffins..." She clears her throat and goes to sit on her throne that's covered in books. "Your petition to join the Knights Awkward is accepted. Say the Words, and. Um." She waves a hand in Carol's general direction. "Sorry, this is even more awkward than usual." Mistrunner again tries to adjust her crown. As always, it doesn't exist.

Aura's response (mainly referencing her experiments):"It's... hard. Or terrifyingly easy. Sometimes I feel like I can do anything. So I do. Or I try. Sleep, food, they stop mattering. All I need is a cup of tea and a supply of powder, and I can do wonderful things. But then... Sometimes, things crash down, and I can't do anything. I can't finish my projects. I can't- I can't feel anything. Nothing matters and everything loses meaning. Those days are, they're bad. It's all a roll of the dice. I'm either left on top of the world or underneath it." I'll get to the other questions soon!

And Aura responds: "I work with powders. I get shipments of crystals, I crush them, and I mix them. Different colors do different things- take blue. You use pressure to activate it [Mistrunner's translation: throw it on the ground, but make sure you throw it hard or nothing will happen and potentially dangerous magical stuff will seep into the groundwater] and it'll paralyze living things within a 2-3-foot radius. You can dilute them using gray powder- it's essentially useless and therefore reduces the effects of the powder you mix it into. You can also mix powders, though that takes precautions. Mixtures can be very unstable, and when experimenting one should always use small amounts. [Mistrunner's note: She once set fire to her house by being reckless with large amounts of powder. And there's a reason her hair is white instead of brown.] I've been doing some experiments lately with flammability of the powders, both as a whole and within subgroups. Once you get to about 310 degrees of heat they melt much like sugar, but if flames are applied directly to the powders they don't light on fire but scorch. I've been running some tests on how that affects..." Author's Note: This interview has been cut for length. Suffice it to say that she is very into powders and experiments with them a lot. It's her life. She will talk about it forever if you let her. Aura's response: "I don't lead the rebels, Journey does. Or Tomorrow. Or whatever code name she's using at the moment. I'm just in charge of this group. I want to say it's a smaller group, but I have no idea. Against the king, who is assassinating some of his own nobles and is attempting to control the kingdom because of some sort of power complex." Author's note: She's feeling a bit grumpy now, so she's a bit snappy. She's got a lot of stuff going on with her life, and isn't handling it all too well, unfortunately. However, it looks like she's on the edge of a breakthrough in her powder research, so she'll probably be cheered up soon.

Seeing as this seems to be the new trend, I thought I'd jump for the chance to test out Aura's character. She's up for anything, depending on her mood. A few quick notes to start off: Aura is called an alchemist, meaning she works with magics and cool stuff like that (or used to before she joined up with the rebels) She currently leads a handful of people in the rebellion. She is terrible at it, unfortunately. Aura has bipolar disorder She's the grumpy/confused person in my avatar. So... ask Aura absolutely anything! (Alliteration is acceptable.)

Random Stuff VI The Return of the Admins
Mistrunner replied to Zathoth's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
I just found something I wrote that makes me realize yet again how awful I've been to one of my characters. He was originally cast because I needed a character who was a soldier the rebels rescue off a battlefield. He's a really likeable, nice guy. Pretty good at sparring, but once he's in a real battle the chaos gets to him and he panics. Nice boy, little scatterbrained. Well, for his regiment to leave him for dead he had to have been pretty injured, so I gave him a broken leg and a concussion. Fairly mild, though the broken leg was kinda bad. A few weeks of recovery, he'd be fine. But then concussion led to mild amnesia, and while that faded fairly quickly he started to show signs of PTSD. He started getting nightmares. I looked up time period medicine and realized his leg would have to be amputated. He's a soldier used to being on his feet- it's what made him useful, in his mind. Not being mobile plunged him into depression. Also, his crush dies. I can't handle this. Somebody give him a hug. This was supposed to be a fun story... -

Right now I like Era 2 better, but it's probably because I've read it more recently. That and Era 2 has Wayne, who is absolutely awesome. -

If only my mother had given away our zucchini. No, we were stuck eating zucchini for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. She put it in everything. -
Count me with the pro-rep system people. Personally, I'm in favor of the dual rep/badges thing, so you can see where they got their rep from. That would solve a lot of things in my opinion at least. One of the reasons I personally like the rep system is similar to something posted before, about how responding to things rather than upvotes can quickly turn into spam. But even if I can respond, sometimes I don't want to. You usually can't tell, but I can be a very insecure person. I've written out some posts that I couldn't get up the nerve to post because I couldn't believe anyone would care what I thought. I've found myself using that little arrow to show appreciation rather than a response because I don't feel comfortable responding but I still want them to know someone liked what they wrote. Does that make sense? True, a lot of undeserving things get huge amounts of upvotes, but I don't thing anything short of deleting the rep system could truly stop that. Like some people have pointed out, it's mainly about how many people see things. I'm okay with having rep only count on each post, if it comes to that. Anyway. That's my two cents.

This flipping essay. Just. No. I can't focus on it. I blame ADD. And the fact that it is waaaay too structured and my brain can't work that way. -
