  1. Hi! A friend of mine asked if Bavadin and Edgli were sisters and he Rafoed :D

About the recordings, we will upload the videos in our spanish oficial forum I think, and we have and interview so I will put the links when it will be able. It's true that there aren't any wobs, but maybe someone would like to watch it.

  2. In Discord someone has said that Brandon told him that we'll have a Aimia novella.

Edit: here is the wob ( from the arcanum)

    [suggestion]

    Javi (paraphrased)

I'm really curious about Aimia and I hope to see more about in the fourth book. Have the Heralds or Hoid been there and will they reveal some stuff about it?

    Sanderson (paraphrased)

Yes, the Heralds have been there and yes, Hoid has been there. However, I don't think there will be info about Aimia in book four, but in a novella I'm planning to write, like Edgedancer. The story will be about some characters travelling to Aimia.

  3. Hi everyone!

Brandon will be here in Spain the next week for the Celsius festival and in Madrid for a little event and signing. I can't attend the event in Madrid ( I have friends who will) but I will be in the festival though. So I will try to put on here every WoB I'll be able to hear or read in the spanish forum/discord, and of course I will be upload them in the Arcanum.:D

  4. I was talking with some friends the other day about if Shaladin was dead or not and one of them pointed something that I think is really foreshadowing and very interesting. And I think anyone hadn't pointed here.

Brandon always shows the weddings. And we didn't see this one.... (This is maybe because we have one wedding in the book but... the oaths are very important in the series so its seems strange that Brandon didn't show this if its really significative)

  5. 6 minutes ago, Harbour said:

Someone have already mentioned this scene, and i decided to reread it closer.

That inner dialogue could have been read from the two perspectives: literal and given the subtext. From literal perspective  its all okay, even if cheesy. She encourages herself. But givent the subtext and context its all the different story.

    1) Pattern usually uses his "Mmmm" with "This is a good lie". And he usually likes when Shallan does a good lie. Here he said "Mmmm, this is the good you", with emphasis on "you". It looks like he implies that she is lying good again.

    2) A good me. Emphasis again and then she breathed out. It looks like she got what Pattern mean and breathed out because subconsciously she knows its a bitter truth.

3)Then she decided to go further. Why? Ill mention that later.

4)Veil and Radiant encourage her too. Again, they repeat that its the celebration of who Shallan is. The celebration of the liar. It becomes so clear.

5)What Shallan says after that just solidify my confidence. Its all right to celebrate the lie. Even if everything is terrible its okay to ignore it. Its all right. In fact here she accepts the lie as the wall to hide behind.

6)Its all right to be happy. Again the emphasis. Here Shallan basically says that by lying to herself she tries to be happy. Thats why she decide to go further. She wants to be happy. Will she be happy lying? Who knows?

In fact Sanderson did a good job showing us how Shallan surround herself with the wall of lie to ignore terrible things.

I completly agree with you, and it breaks my heart.

  6. I asked two things:

(I'm paraphrasing, you can watch the final part of the video)

    1. Can a KR have a nahel bond with two sprens? He answered me with a RAFO

    2. The spren of truthwatchers are related directly with cultivation or the nightwatcher? He answered that the majority of sprens are a mixture of both shards. But the truthwatchers sprens where related with Cultivation.

  7. I preordered the moment I learned about it but mistborn secrets is shown to be released at 30th January in Amazon

I did the same, what I don't understand is the change of date, why do that? Really we have to wait until 30th? I've been thinking about cancel my order and buy the ebook on smashwords....

  8. OMG, $100 for a book + shipping to Europe... I wonder if my girlfriend would try to kill me for paying this much money on one book.  That's like 10% of our monthly budget :(

Anyone can estimate for me how much would shipping to Europe cost?

EDIT: Never mind, I found that it would be around $40... So in total $140... one of the hardest decisions of this year.

I have the same problem :(

  9. The problem I see with this is we do not know enough about how the bond interacts to create powers. The Nahel bond is an attachment to a persons spirit but other than that we can not explain why a Spren dies. All we can tell is that when the owner of the bond changes his thinking to something opposed to the bond(Kaladin letting someone die, Shallan no longer speaking) the Spren breaks in some fundamental way. You can not steal the surges from the person if how I understand this is right because the surge is a benefit of the bond not a inherent trait of the users spiritweb like Allomancy or Feruchemy. So long as the recipient of the stolen bond does not think or act in a fundamentally opposite way to the Spren attached to the bond it should remain in tact. For this kind of hemalurgy your stealing the part of the Spiritweb were the bond attaches. Of course there is no way to know that if the bond is broken a shard blade will appear unless the Spren was in blade form first. Surgebinding and the ability to use Stormlight are things available to users because of a synthesis of thought between the Spren and Human.

I may be confusing this so real short what I'm trying to say is no bond no surges

I think the same, the way I figure Surgebinding is impossible to force a bond ( at least a Nahel bond, maybe in the case of a Herald is different).

By the way Brandon say Rafo when someone ask him if the spikes could be of other materials like gems....

  10.  Hi guys! I have been discussing in the spanish  Facebook group about If the inquisitors need drink vials for use the abilities in his spikes. A lot of people agrees with that. It's true that if they drink a vial his power increases but they not "need" drink vials to use the ability, at least this is the way I understand it because the blood on the spike is what metabolized the ability on the spike right?

  11. It would first depend on what TYPE of Surgebinder was stabbed.

A KR, you'd likely steal the bond, and then have to contend with a very annoyed Spren. If you did nothing to violate that orders oaths you'd probably be able to keep the powers.

A Herald, on the other hand, you'd get something else. I don't think we have enough info so say what outside of pure guessing. (I suspect you'd end up being bound by the Oathpact, whatever that means)

This is really interesting. I suppose that in the case of a Herald what would be stolen is the "bond" with Honor?

Another question and interesting to ask Sanderson is about the material of the spike. I don't believe metal spike would work on Roshar... maybe a gemstone spike? If this is the case would that spike have a spren inside?

  12. I've been thinking about Hemalurgy and how it works and we know by WoB that hemalurgy can steal another investitures so....

if a Surgebinder is stabbed with a hemalurgic spike what would be stolen? The Nahel Bond? ( the spren will die then? ) the ability to breath stormlight? or maybe abilities related to the surges?

This last  option is more similar to the way hemalurgy works on allomancers and feruchemist, but Surgebinding don't work like allomancy or feruchemy, a surgebinder gains his abilities through

    the nahel bond so...

what do you think? Any ideas?

  13. Tan is not Dark skin, so...  but I like that theory :) But I always thought that Iyatil could be Yolish, maybe her family originally was from Yolen and then worldhopped to another planet ( Like Threnody )
