I see, so the more factors involved the harder it is to deduce a theory on the resonance between specific abilities. Looks like I'm gonna have to do a deep dive through the WoB's at some point today to see if I can find any other tidbits. P.S., Thanks for bringing this to my attention, it truly is interesting to view how the different powers interact and the parallels they draw with real world physics.

I'm currently creating a table of the confirmed resonances of Radiants and the three most prominent theories for the orders that don't currently have a confirmed one. So, I would like to try and get some of the communities' opinions rather than just my own theories and the theories put forth on the Coppermind (Elsecaller GPS, and Edgedancer communication). So long story short any and all theories about possible resonances would be greatly appreciated. As an added bonus here are some of my personal theories: a) Dustbringer: A knack for picking out structural flaws. b) Truthwatcher: Either perception of the spiritweb or perhaps the ability to see the cognitive aspect of things? c) Stoneward: Comforting presence? Like people just get the feeling that they can trust/rely on them. [Note: None of these are actually based on evidence atm, purely vibes and what I've seen others suggest] Thank you to anyone who participates, I will either add the table onto here when it's done or make a separate post about it.

First things first, do you guys think that the investure stored in a Nicrosil Metalmind is raw investure or do you think that simply the investure for their metallic art (e.g., The stored investure can be used as a sub for metal in alomancy or a Steel-Nicrosil twinborn storing investure to tap to enhance the Steelpush [like duralium]). To clarify The Lost Metal depicts concentrated investure being used as a sub for metals, and I'm asking if the investure stored acts the same (this is my current understanding but there is every chance I'm wrong). So theoretically (assuming that my interpretation is correct) could a Nicrosil compounder use invested Nicrosil to become a sort of battery of investure, if so, could the compounder become so invested that they get stuck in the cognitive realm upon death. Or could they learn to channel that raw investure to replicate other Investure systems (obviously not systems that rely on a particular variant of investure [e.g., Stormlight]? I know this is all theoretical and we have no actual idea but I'm curious as to what your opinions on the theory are.

As mentioned above I haven't read Stormlight yet, but that has been my main consideration as for what to read after finishing Warbreaker. Dragons are cool, though I wasn't aware there were any in the cosmere but I'm looking forward to finding them if they are. Wayne's awesome, his arc in The Lost Metal was really good and fully sold me on a character I already enjoyed. My fav twinborn combo would have to come down to either Bronze (A) and Tin (F) [As I wonder if you could store the investure sense in the tin, or if you could use the sense enhancement to increase the range of the bronze] or double Nicrosil could be interesting [the compounding investure and the idea of tapping investure to increase the potency of a Nicro-burst]

I've been considering joining up here for a while and finally decided to do so. So as a bit of an icebreaker I'd like to ask you guys three questions: 1) What series (or single) from Sanderson is your favourite? 2) What investure/magic system is your favourite? (While I haven't read them all curiosity got the better of me, and I've looked into a fair few of them on the coppermind.) Currently my favourite system is the Biochromatic Breath on Nalthis. 3) Any suggestions as for what I should read next? I've read both Era 1 and 2 of Mistborn, Secret History, and am currently about halfway through Warbreaker while trying to decide what to get hooked into next. I look forward to interacting and lurking with you all in future. EDIT: As of 7/6/2026 I've read All of Stormlight (save the two novella's) and Mistborn, Yumi, Warbreaker and Elantris. And am going to be picking up either Tress, Sunlit man, or Emberdark within the next couple of days.
