Locke

Just finished it. I loved it. I plowed through the book in 2 days which for me is very fast. A couple of thoughts: -I had it figured out pretty early on that Megan was an Illusion Epic, but I didn't put it all together that she was Firefight until right before the reveal. Although by that point it was pretty easy to figure out. -I also suspected that Prof was an Epic, but it never occurred to me that he was a gifter. -From the beginning I thought Steelhearts weakness was courage. For example, if you used courage to stand up against him you could hurt him. I was kinda close. I can't wait for book 2, but I suspect it will be at least a year. Ah well, at least we have WOR to look forward to next.

Just finished the book. I usually stay away from YA stuff, but since Brandon wrote it I couldn't help myself. I thought he did a great job setting up the next novel. I'm really excited to see where he takes the story. I will admit however that I was very bummed that Joel didn't become a Rithmatist. I'm assuming somewhere down the line he will eventually get the Rithmatic powers, but Brandon did such a great job setting up how bad Joel wanted to become a Rithmatist you felt so bad for him when he wasn't chosen. I'm sure it will be at least 2 years before we get the next novel, so the wait is gonna be tough. At least we have book 2 of the Stormlight Archive to look forward to in the meantime.
