Viridis eased his metabolism back to normal levels, in case he had to flee, but remained silent.

Kiornight hesitated. There was a potential threat, but not one that wanted to reveal itself. That could mean they felt he was a threat, or it could mean they were trying to conceal how great a threat they were. They wouldn't be weak, surviving here so long. And willing to climb a bizarre plant at a moment's notice.

He decided not to push the conversation, instead scattering deeper into the forest. "Strange," he muttered as he departed.

He pulls out the knives, and throws them at Ink, who will appear later right into the knife.

    @Ink and Embers

Ink is stabbed by a singular knife that is also many knives and glitches out of reality once again in order to process this information. They then reappear, pick up the knifes, and tie them into a bow.

Next, they steal GG0z's head from Factor and give her a shark in exchange. Ink reattaches GG0z's head, then attempts to garrotte him.

  3. I enjoyed it and have it ranked as the second craziest thing I have read in my life. It was chaotic; I thought the character interactions were fun and well-detailed; I appreciated the anti-AI-art aspects; I was grateful for the scenes where Hoid explained what was happening! It is pretty similar in places to Your Name, but very interesting, especially the cultural differences between Yumi and Painter.

Conure grabs a land mine from a nearby shelf and throws it at @GG0z

Ink throws a bandage back at Conure.

Viridis froze as he caught the humanoid swarm looking straight at him, desperately hoping that his cloak would provide sufficient camouflage. He slowed his metabolism as much as he dared.

    Yep :D

Just jump it, what you do can have absolutely nothing to do with anything else here if you wish.

Something seemed to bolt out a little of the sun in the canopy. Kiornight hissed softly. He didn't have much time, but if there was another person...

He pulled together, clicking wings calling out in an imitation of a voice. "Who's there?"

    Nothing extremely wordy

I’ve been only writing snippets recently, but still:

The crumbling walls of Hiraeth were a familiar sight to Kore. Their shadows embraced her, keeping her shielding from prying eyes.

She used to walk these same paths when she was younger. Then, however, she was trapped on the other side. The walls were a jailer rather than a friend.

Time has changed that. Now, the Reach was a home rather than an untamed wasteland. Now, she was a leader rather than a disgrace. Now, she had purpose.

Oooo, awesome!!!! I like the suspense. Kore like old Persephone?

  7. I don't often remember dreams well, but here are some snippets:

    1) People are getting trapped in large swirly pearls in a geometric but mostly white space. Two other people are with me, one of whom I don't remember, one of whom I don't speak to often and is taller than she should be.

    2) My best friend, who only existed in this dream, is sitting on a museum roof with me and I'm scared of falling off.

    3) The river is the colour of those leaves you get in autumn that are a mixture of very pale yellow and total rot. I fall in and start drifting and wake up in the position I fell in.

    4) There's a water castle and mermaids based on Lego Friends. I'm swimming with my school year which includes a boy I haven't seen since I was 7. Cut to me walking in a line through a corridor in school while a cannonball approaches.

    5) There are zombies. They're all blond barbarians with bleeding skin. The leader of the resistance is one of their siblings. I'm in a marsh and nearly drown and rescue someone, then we go to the base, which is like the third storey of a carpark except buried in a marsh with no right to be as water-resistant as it is.

    6) I'm struck by lightning. I wake up.

    7) There's a swimming pool in the school hall. A friend lends me swim kit that's all made of wool. The dream is in third person.

😎 There's another swimming pool (WHY) except lagoon themed with picnic benches in the shallow end and wooden poles you can climb with built in musical instruments. After I'm cycling home with a friend and I fall of my bike and watch it shoot off across the road and roundabout and keep going.

    9) I'm in an exam. My only pen is purple. I've moved seats and this is breaking my brain. Everyone is talking. I'm in some kind of cathedral. I open the paper and it hasn't printed properly and the questions are awful. I make eye contact with my friend. I start writing.

    10) I break into someone's house while they're away, with permission. The groundskeeper helps me leave several times by way of a blanket strung over concrete then a rope ladder. I do this several times. For some reason, this ruins the person's internet career.

  8. I did not enjoy the Sunlit Man, largely because characterisation is very important to me when I read books and I felt like TSM lacked this a bit. Nomad seems like an interesting character to me, but personally I don't feel like I know enough about him to be Invested (pun intended) in his storyline, especially not enough for him to have a standalone book. I also wish Elegy in particular was developed more; I think there's a very interesting debate to be had in "how much can you change before who you were is considered dead" that could've been explored more

Viridis slowly ascended higher as the swarm began to spread out. He hoped that whatever this thing was, it wouldn't think to search upwards.

He felt a sharp pain on his left index fingers. "Ah!" he yelped as he spotted the leafcutter ant major biting into his skin. He let go of the branch he was holding, relying on the grip of his other hand, and sped up his metabolism again to aid in healing. He glanced downwards at the swarm fearfully.

Kiornight paused at the sound of a yell. Had that been a person? And where? Gathering back into a largely humanoid shape, he scrutinized the plants around him. An ant nest buried itself near the roots of a tree, insects whirring away busily. Pulling his form tighter together so as not to lose sapience, Kiornight crouched down, listening to the ants.

    Intruders ... breaking ... seeking ... killing ...

Kiornight drew back sharply, flashing again momentarily. He hadn't conversed with them long enough to lose a significant number of fireflies, but it would be better to avoid it.

Stepping back, he looked up, squinting through the thick foliage.

    The morning?

It's still the same day to Viridis... the sun hasn't even set yet

So TLT isn't like other RPs - there's no GM or person in charge, unless you count the super powerful characters.

You can do almost whatever you want here; there are several plotlines happening at once that are unrelated, and you can create your own or join an existing one.

If you wish, you can read some of the wiki: https://thelongestthread.fandom.com/wiki/The_Longest_Thread_Wiki

There isn't much on there, compared to the oceans of lore built over 4473 pages, but it's something

However, plotlines do not need to connect to any existing lore at all

    THERE'S A WIKI

    THAT'S AMAZING

Quote books are always a fun thing, especially without the context.

I remember irl from this year. A friend pulled my chair out from under, sending me to my back Charlie Brown style. Another friend proceeded to ask me “Do you need belly scratches?”

YOU MOCK MY PAIN @irl friend

I do this all the time! I am literally Ulaam.

Recently I was making a bunch of leaving cards for people at school and I wrote down the best funny quotes from each of them.

I've only heard the Music teacher's reaction so far, which was "I've been so mean to the trumpets!"

    Ah okay

Viridis' jaw dropped as the buzzing mass approaching him, though his face remained shadowed by his hood. As quietly as he could, he began to climb the nearest tree. He was confident that no human would be able to hear him, though he had no idea of what this creature's hearing was like. His stomach rumbled, and his eyes widened at the noise; he immediately turned down his metabolism to normal levels. He really needed to find something to eat.

Kiornight glanced around. Huh. He could've sworn he'd heard ... Nevermind. The swarm grew a little further apart: less cohesion this way, but a greater range. The island was full of strange beings.

A pink-green plant snapped at the passing fireflies. A handful blinked out, while the remaining ones flashed briefly and brightly in alarm. Curses. I hope no one saw that.
