  1. I'm working my way through the somewhat divisive part of Bravely Default at the moment (For the record, I'm loving it), but I've been suddenly struck by a powerful "God I love Xenogears and Xenosaga and Xenoblade so much, I should replay one of them" mood, and returned my ng+ run of Xenoblade 3. I started this hoping to take notes on all the named townsfolk NPCs so I can flesh out their pages on the Xeno Series Wiki, but life stuff got in the way of that and slowed it way down (Also I accidentally saved over my actual ng+ save with a whole new save I made to double check some stuff). Time to pick back up the pace
  2. Etrian is a *great* series for making OCs, I remember my Pugilist in that party was an Awakener, and the idea was that their Bind-inflicting attacks (Binds are a unique type of status ailment that are applied to either the head, arms, or feet, and reduce accuracy, damage, and evasion respectively, as well as disabling any abilities that use those limbs, like spellcasting or a breath attack, for the head, or a running tackle for the feet) were flavored as using the same rope trick featured in Warbreaker. Its also just a great series in general, if you're interested in a retro-style dungeon crawler where you have to map out the dungeon on your own as you explore. The older games are both punishing and demanding, but there's remasters for the first three on Steam and modern consoles that add qol features and difficulty options, which are also present in the games that don't have remasters (Gah, I keep forgetting this forum doesn't use markdown formatting, I have to apply fancy formatting with buttons and shortcuts instead of just adding the right characters in the right place)
  3. Oh nice, music thread. I've really gotta get around to picking up a second A Giant Dog album, because I absolutely *love* this one. Its hard to pick a favorite track, but this one was my intro to the band, listening to Pandora between classes in high school, and I've never gotten tired of it
  4. I do not play instruments (Though I'd love to learn keyboard...), and as above, I'm not really in the Sanderson reading game anymore, so my interest in the cosmere and its planets is pretty diminished. I joined because I was looking for the non-Sanderson parts of the community, which is where I spend most of my time on the discord. Even for six characters I'd want to have lunch with, I had to cheat and use an OC (God I love the name though. I've been getting better at coming up with interesting names over the years, but Lexinway is one I'm not sure I'll ever let go of in the back of my mind)
  5. Uh... Vasher, Tress, Shai, Khriss, Nazh, and Lexinway, an era 2 Terrisman OC I made one time I wanted to play Etrian Odyssey with a party of all Cosmere OCs (He was a Lurcher that dual-wielding dueling canes, which mechanically meant he was a Nighstalker specced into dual-wielding, the Lurcher bit was so he could retrieve his throwing knives that the Nighstalker class uses for its status ailment inflicting attacks)
  6. Dragons I have no strong opinions on in any direction. I think they're cool, but in the same way wolves and whales and birds are cool. I'm discovering ebooks are my preferred way to read a lot of books (I already bring my phone with me everywhere after all), and have nothing against webnovels in a general sense, but haven't actually read any (Although I'm ware Will Wight reads a lot of them, which obviously means they're gonna influence the kind of stuff he writes). There's been two I got interested enough in to make a mental note of, but I don't recall either of their names at all, I just know they were both broadly about the aftermath of a modern-day christian-flavored doomsday event. Oh, and 17776, if that counts, which I have read a little bit of (EDIT: Also, I'm aware of forum RPs, though I've never participated. I may or may not dip my toe in)
  7. Hello! I've been on the discord server for a while now, since around when Rhythm of War released, but I was recently reminded this forum is still kicking, and I've been having fun hanging out on another oldschool-style forum, so I figured I'd join. I've honestly rather grown out of Brandon's works, so its unlikely I ever visit the Cosmere side of the forum, but I'm excited to talk about stuff in the non-cosmere and social areas. (Oh, manual line breaks default to double the size of automatic ones, fancy) I'm working my way through the works of Ursula K Le Guin and Shirley Jackson, albeit at a slow pace, and I'm a big fan of Will Wight's books as well, when I'm not quite in the mood for slow and deliberate reading (I even got a copy of The Captain signed by him at a local Barnes and Noble). I'm a big fan of long, story-focused RPGs and VNs (I went through all of Xenogears, Xenosaga, and Xenoblade last year, both Baten Kaitos games not long later, I did all of Ever17 without using the skip function or using saves to skip around, and started on the followup Remember11 as well, I've been sitting on Steins;Gate for a while, I'm 70 hours into Bravely Default...), but sometimes I'll play a time waster like Dynasty Warriors, or Downwell, or Mario Kart, etc., and I love a good character action game, like Bayonetta and Devil May Cry. Once upon a time I played fighting games competitively, and there's a chance I pick that hobby back up in a few months, once some irl stuff at home is taken care of The discord server's been a lot of fun, its a great community, and I look forward seeing what this side of it all has to offer
