This is a shot in the dark, but the names are similar enough that I think either purposely, or accidentally, Sanderson mutated a name from Malazan Book of the Fallen. There is a Hold called Ahkrast Korvalain, and at least to me it looks quite similar to the name Korvellium Avast. If true it wouldn't be a particularly fun answer given that 'Avast' appears in both Cultivation's and Honor's, but personally they look close enough that it feels possible, if not likely.
