  1. A bit off topic but @ Som1Else: best signature ever, made you look, love it!
  2. Awesome! That's really great to hear.
  3. I guess I just go with phonetics most of the time. On a side note, if a name looks Greek, I'll pronounce it as Greek or if it looks French, I'll pronounce it as French, etc. Szeth though, who knows?
  4. Hello, all. New to the forums and just wanted to say hello. My name is Pat Brooks. I live in upstate NY. I work for an oil and gas company but I'm a brewer, pilot, and constant reader in my spare time. I also enjoy good television (a very limited commodity, IMO, but I did just re-watch Battlestar Galactica and am in the process of watching The Next Generation, good shows). I love Sanderson's work and am really, really glad that he was chosen to continue WoT, not only because he totally revived the series, but because I may well have missed out on one of the best fantasy authors of our generation. I look forward to re-reading tWoK and getting in on some theorycrafting. It's been a long time since I've been interested enough in a work to re-read it and look for interesting tidbits. I used to feel that way about WoT and ASoIaF but Jordan got way to into wardrobe description and GRRM got way to into not writing books for half a decade. The fact that Brandon is an author who writes is rather refreshing and I look forward to his subsequent works. See y'all on the boards.
  5. Since the series are interconnected, you kinda can't have one without the other. Also, overuse of the ellipsis is a sure fire way to show off your sub-100 IQ. What a goober.
  6. As with anything like this, it could be either really good, or really bad (remember the WoT game for PC, awful). Hopefully Brandon can retain full creative veto power and make sure that the story is actually good.
  7. Robert Jordan first but, that said, when I read The Gathering Storm I was so pleased with Sanderson's writing that I then read a bunch of his other books. Put it this way: I read what Brandon has written and pay attention to what he's writing. If Jordan has other books besides the WoT, I'm not interested.
