My first girlfriend back in high school had a copy of Eye of the World on the floor of her extremely messy room. I asked about it, and she shrugged and told me a bit about it, but she wasn't all that into it. But when I found a copy at my book store at home... I was hooked. By this point, The Dragon Reborn had just come out in paperback, and Shadow Rising was quickly approaching. I've been reading and rereading and going nuts waiting for the next one ever since. Now she's a happy memory, but the WoT has stuck with me.

Hello all, I'm new. I exist. I'm one of those people that learned of Brandon Sanderson by way of The Wheel of Time. I've since become at least as big a fan of Sanderson as I am of Jordan. I absolutely LOVE Way of Kings. Hmm. What else... Well I'm an aspiring writer, trying to get my aspiring to writing ratio into a favorable condition. I listen to Writing Excuses and try to get to Brandon's signings when he's within somewhat reasonable range. I've learned a lot and enjoy the podcast and the advice. I also listen to I Should Be Writing and A Way With Words, among others. Other authors I like are Pat Rothfuss, George RR Martin, Jim Butcher, Harry Conolly, Michael Stackpole, Kevin J Anderson, and of course I cut my babyteeth on Tolkien and Le Guin. I'm reading Kevin J Anderson's Saga of Seven Suns right now. Got to meet him at Dragon Con this year when his wife accidentally tried to take my friend's head off with a backward karate chop. I'm pretty laid back in general. I work as a software engineer. I'm a huge geek. I larp. I play RPGs, and am a casual WoW addict. I'm happily married to a wonderful geeky wife who makes me smile. No kids yet. Two cats. That's about it. So hi!
