As we've seen in Stormlight, anti-investiture does exist, so that got me thinking. Could someone or something create an Anti-Dawnshard? What effects would it have with the world around it? What would be the implications to the Cosmere?

I was wondering if the extended use of shardplate+shardblade (unoathed included) grant any form of resonance? I know that technically the wielder is just using a sword and armour, but the fact that both are bonded to the wielder and are made of investiture, does this still apply for resonances?

Recently I posted another thread talking about metals and specifically, Silver in the Cosmere: One thing I forgot to include was Trellium or Bavadinium, and it got me thinking. What exactly is going on with Trellium? The Coppermind classifies it as the following: The things that stick out to me the most are the silvery appearance and the similar effect it has with Investiture. With this in mind, I wonder if Trellium is actually an alloy and not a full God Metal. Similar to how Atium was first presented before the retcon. It's curious that Silver is allomantically inert, yet it disrupts Investiture, like it's the case with Shades, Spores and White Sand (As per a WoB). The Coppermind also states that if you were to allomantically burn Trellium, there are unknown effects. Maybe they are unknown as the silver elements of Trellium are disrupting the allomantic reaction? Is it possible that the pure form of Bavadinium has different properties than Trellium, as it is essentially the "God metal" of an Avatar, not the shard? This theory would have interesting implications due to the fact that Autonomy can determine how heavily she invests her avatars. It makes sense that she would grant a "god metal" to an avatar where the main form of Investiture are the metallic arts. What do you think? Am I up to something? Furthermore, if Trellium was widely available, could you use it to disrupt other forms of investiture? A few examples I propose would be: *Trellium dagger vs shade = dead shade. *Trellium dagger vs silver chain = disrupts the cognitive anchor. *Trellium Spike vs shade/cognitive shadow = kills share/cognitive shadow. *Trellium dagger/spike vs Herald = disrupts connection to Honor, makes them a normal person. *Trellium sword vs shardblade = makes shardblade vanish momentarily. *Trellium sword vs shardplate = makes shardplate vanish momentarily. *Trellium spike vs radiant spren (in cognitive realm) = kills spren (disrupts their bond). *Trellium spike vs Radiant = Blocks their nahel bond. No access to surges. * Trellum spike vs Fuzed = Blocks connection to Odium. No access to surges. *Trellium vs Unmade = Incapacitates them. *Trellium spike/dagger vs sand master = blocks luhel bond. *Trellium sword vs spores = kills spores. *Trellium dagger/spike vs Aetherbound = blocks luhel bond. *Trellium Spike vs Aviar = Blocks their abilities *Trellium vs a Returned = Can kill them, disrupting their Divine Breath. Let the theorizing begin.

If Harmony transitions into Discord, would we see harmonium transition into Discordium? Would it be similar to anti-investiture or would the tone of the metal be opposite to Harmonium? If Harmonium is extremely reactive, would Discordium be inert? Let's theorize!

Could you theoretically restore consciousness to a Lifeless via Hemalurgy, unkeyed Feruchemy or Advanced awakening?

I'm curious to know more about the Allomantic metals and how they interact with different magic systems in the Cosmere. Here are a few questions that I hope we can all answer together. I've categorized the effects we know of and some questions, per magic System-Planet: *Scadrial: Allomancy, Feruchemy and Hemalurgy. There are still some unknown variables when it comes to the use of certain metals, but I'm sure we will find out more during era 3. *Roshar: Surgebinding,Voidbinding and Fabrials. We've primarily seen the Allomantic metals being used in fabrials. We've also seen aluminium and the god metals heavily interact with the story. Does silver have any effect on Spren? *Sel: AonDor, Forgery, Dakhor, Bloodsealing and Potions. Do the allomantic metals have any effect on any of these systems? From what I remember aluminium does seem to block forgery. I'm assuming that it would also work for bloodsealing. *Nalthis: Awakening. We know that if you were to awaken different metals, the result would vary depending on the metal, the amount of breath used and the command. Have we seen any examples of this outside of Nalthian tech in Lumar, Nightblood and Azure's blade? *Taldain: Sandmastery. I can't remember if any allomantic metals were shown in Taldain besides aluminium. I remember there was a WOB about Silver also affecting Sandmastery. Are there any other examples? *Komashi: Yoki Hijo. Do the allomantic metals make an appearance? What would happen if you were to slice a nightmare with aluminium or silver? If you used a pulling or pushing metal on Hion, what would be effect? *Canticle: Sunhearts. We've seen Scadrians using Scadrian technology based on the allomantic metals and we do see Nomad trying to make a spike out of a sunheart, but what other effects could we see here. Does Aluminium/Sliver have any effect whatsoever on Sunhearts? Could you harvest the intense heat of canticle with an unkeyed medallion or would it just melt? What metal is the Continuity Chain made of? Is it an an awaked metal object or something else? *Lumar: Spores. We've seen spores interact with some metals like silver, aluminium, steel and iron. I wonder what would happen if spores interacted with other metals like Zinc, Bronze, Copper or even Brass? *Yolen: Microkinesis: I haven't read Dragon Steel Prime yet so I'm not aware of the metals being mentioned here. But I wonder, are the Dawnshards made of a specific metal/godmetal? *First of the Sun. I've read the Arcanum novella but not Emberdark. Have the metals made an appearance there, if so, what were the effects? *Threnody: Shades: We're very aware of the effects of Silver on this planet. Did aluminium or any other metal have any effect on the shades/evil? Please let me know if I missed anything or if you've spotted something.

Here's an interesting scenario. Say you've just awaked the Father Machine, same command, same circumstances as they did in Komashi, BUT, in this case you happen to have a very friendly sword capable of killing a Shard. The moment the Father Machine starts to consume everyone around you, you unsheath Nightblood. As both entities start to consume investiture around them, including yourself, your last thought is the following: Who will consume the other first? On the other hand, say you arrived to Komashi later in the story and you had to face the Nightmares, what would happen if you attacked the Nightblood?

Crazy theory time! So I was revisiting Secret History and The Eleventh Metal. I did some research into Gemmel & Eleventh metal, and realized that Gemmel has long been suspected to have been spiked. Here's the direct Coppermind quote: So, here's the theory. Did Ruin reveal the Eleventh metal to Gemmel, who then shared it with Kelsier, to then be passed along to Vin, so she could use it to kill the Lord Ruler and take the power of the Well to release Ruin? If so, holy rusts! That was an elaborate gambit. What do you think?

You're right. I'd forgotten about the other two. Thank you for your research. I wonder what attributes the bond would grant. We've obviously seen what Yelig-nar can do to a normal person. I wonder if it would have a different effect on a radiant, singer, or bondsmith.

From Oathbringer, Chapter 30: Is it possible for anyone, radiant or even a bondsmith to bond an Unmade? The Unmade seem to share a lot of similarities with the Stormfather and the Sibling. What do you think? Is this a RAFO?

Why do the Unmade live between the Cognitive Real and the Physical Realm?
Epicdaf posted a question in Cosmere Q&A
Like the question states, Do we know why do the Unmade live between the Cognitive Real and the Physical Realm? -
I recently came across this quote from another topic on the forums: "- The white "sun" visible in Shadesmar (and in Shallan's chapter headers) is the Spiritual Realm" So my question is, can you physically access the Spiritual realm by reaching the Sun in Shadesmar or am I really just grasping at straws here?

The Elsecalling Fabrial/The Messengers
Epicdaf replied to TacoBellChoutaMeal's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Are you talking about the device Hoid gives Sig at the end of WAT? I don't remember the specifics of it. All I remember was that Hoid gave the the dawnshard and then he was pushed into Shadesmar. I believe we are going to see some very interesting Fabrials or just technology overall once we get to Isles. Brandon has been teasing us with cool new technologies in his secret projects, so I am definitely looking forward for some very interesting Fabrials.- 1 reply

Interesting relation between Vasher and Canticle. I would definitely like to see a book with Zelion and Vasher. Just to clarify, the black sphere from the prologue is the anti-voidlight sphere right?

@Trusk'our You are so right. I completely forgot about soul stamping. I wonder if there are mechanical ways of corruption. Similar to how there are ways to transfer light from gem to gem, it would be interesting to see if there is another way to mechanically corrupt investiture. I guess there must be a way to Manipulate the Connection of Investiture in order to Corrupt it. I guess, an example of Nalthian Corrupted Investiture could be observed in Tress?
-
I will be asking questions about the nature of Investiture, and referencing events and concepts explored in the following books, so this is your spoiler warning: The Lost Metal, White Sand, Rhythm of War, Wind and Truth and Sunlit man. So, my question is, how does one corrupt Investiture? We've seen Anti-Investiture and we've seen the sigs of corrupted Investiture, but do we know the process of how to corrupt it?

Spoilers for the ENTIRE cosmere ahead. Click away if you haven't read Wind and Truth and Sunlit Man in particular. This post will theorize about the future of the cosmere, so if you're not up to date, click away. Ok. Still with me? Aux has become one of my favourite spren so far (Syl and Stormdady included). Anyway, since reading SLM I've been thinking back to the end of WAT and the implications of the "unoathed". Aux considers himself a knight radiant and even mentions that he swore the oaths. We know that he was fundamentally changed by the Dawnshard whilst Sigzil was in posession of it. This granted them unique abilities, but if they hadn't had access to the dawnshard, I would love to know the mechanics and implications of a spren swearing the oaths. Will we see other spren such as Notum do the same? He is the only other spren to perform "human-spren" abilities, such as when he "bonded" armor spren at the end of WAT. The implications of this are so interesting and could lead to interesting results. Maybe other bonding entities such as cognitive shadows or other sapient forms of investiture, will perform similar feats. I am ready for the space age and cannot wait to read and find out. Share your thoughts below. PS. Dear admin, thanks for bearing with me when moving my posts from place to place. I hope I got it right this time. If not, please spike me with a duralumin spike!

Hey, I'm back again for another theory. I just saw a WAB where a memebe rof the audience asks the following. Q-"So, what's up with Canticle? You've got like the Sunlight, it appears to be invested, and then like the planets core is like trying to suck it up and eat it all, like, where does it all go after it does that? And like, what's with that? Brandon - "Yeah, Canticle was BUILT for a very specific purpose by a VERY POWERFULL BEING in the Cosmere, that I will someday get to. You're going to see some more stuff like this. Basically MEGASTRUCTURES that imitate plantes or other heavenly bodies. And Brandon confirms it's not an avatar of any shard. So, here is my theory. Canticle was built by... INVENTION. Of all the shards, this seems like the most probable powerful being to be able to build megastructures. Brandon has also hinted at the Grand Aparatus. Maybe Invention is up to something involving these devices. Maybe the ones above, come from Inventions Megastructures. I'd love to hear what you think.

I was just reading a post regarding the nature of Harmonium or Ettmetal It talks about it's volatitly due to it's spiritual nature, and it got me thinking. This isn't the first time we see a form of Investiture reacting to water. So far we have these examples: 1) Ettmetal + water = Boom! 2) Black Sand from Taldain + water = Sandmastery 3)Aether spores + water = various results depending on the spore 4)Aether bound with Luhel Bond + Water = various results depending on the bonded Aethers. 5) Water + Terkin = Destroyed Terkin Are there any other such examples? I wonder what other plans Brandon has with water in the Cosmere. There seems to be an intersting story behind it as with Aluminium and Silver. Leave your thoughts below. Let's theorize!

I've been giving a lot of thought to the creation of the Blackthorn spren and the consequences of investing a spren with such renown with the real counterparts memories and abilities. The only other entity in the cosmere that shares a similar if not greater reputation is Marsh (Ironyes), as knowledge or rumours of him have reached other worlds. It would be very interesting if somehow, due to his invested (almost sliver-like) status, he created a spren version of himself. Maybe the version that we've been hearing about in the cosmere is the spren itself? Would he/it be the cosmere's champion against the blackthorn? What are your thoughts?

Like the title suggests, could Fort, our loving quartermaster be a Kolos Blooded desendant from a Scadrian Worldhopper? There seems to be hints on the text that he might, as he is described as being huge. I don't have the direct quotes though.

thanks so much for doing that @#1 Taln Fan!
