  1. Thanks all, - Sanderson project I am most excited for: anything new in the Cosmere (naturally) but particularly since The Lost Metal I have wanted more Ghostbloods -- like what they were doing / consisted of in that book, not the Rosharan sect per se -- so the next Ghostbloods series is probably what I am most looking forward to. - My introduction to Sanderson was reading a paperback "Mistborn" book back when it wasn't yet called / dubbed "The Final Empire" - I wasn't engrossed enough to keep reading the other books he wrote at the time, but I remembered how interesting and fun that book was, and I came back to Sanderson after I got into audiobooks a few years back.
  2. Thank you - that nails it (no pun intended). (Also points to the benefit of doing a full re-read before doing Wind and Truth - which I didn't do, unfortunately.)
  3. Thank you! - Favorite Spren: Mist Spren (I'd be a Truthwatcher) - Non-compounding twinborn combination: Ferechemical Bronze (storing wakefulness) & Allomantic Pweter (increase physical strength). Hardy combination; I realize others may be more impactful.
  4. I am not marking this as a spoiler of any kind because this is the "open" forum where I think all spoilers are allowed. Please pardon me if I misinterpreted. ...................................................................................................................................................... Question: Is the "voice" that told the Parshendi about Szeth and the Honor Blade he possessed Ishar, or likely to be Ishar? Background: In the Oathbringer Prologue, Klade (member of the Parshendi ruling council) recalls that a "voice" told him about Szeth's abilities as an assassin (and I think it is implied the surge binding / honor blade weilding nature of his abilities). --- [sidenote] I don't remember paying any attention to this detail in prior readings / listenings; it was something I came upon when looking into this topic. Additional question: Does this also imply the heralds - or at least Ishar - were really the ones planning to kill Gavilar all along? I am not sure they would have forseen the Parshendi necessarily doing what they did, but they possessed certain key information / Ishar seems to have some level of foresight due to his "touching" the Shard of Odium, correct - ?
  5. Greetings - I joined this forum to ask in-depth questions that I may not get answered elsewhere. In spite of the snarky username (I may have been running on less-than optimal sleep when I created it!) I am a massive Cosmere fan and have read all published works to date (including Wind and Truth if that needs explicit confirmation). I haven't read every "Words of Brandon" and in spite of living in close proximity to where the Dragonsteel conventions are held: I have only been once, and I don't know if I will go back (my sole experience was good - people were nice, the events were cool - but it isn't / wasn't something I felt the need to prioritize attending). I also subscribe to the Shardcast but admittedly only listen sometimes (!) - I tend to search for topics of interest here also.
  6. Hello -- I was curious about what characteristics of the Unmade at Kholinar influenced the guards to behave as they did. -- Specifically: The palace guards who are weirdly statuesque/robotic and yet simultaneously have lost their grip on reality and have become dangerous, as Shallan discovered. The 3 Unmade that are present *don't appear to be responsible* - i.e., none are known for inducing the specific effects described above. I searched on Reddit and there is a related thread (https://www.reddit.com/r/Cosmere/comments/1ermtg7/kholinar_and_the_unmade/) but it has no specific, explanatory answer(s).
