  1. Honestly, I haven’t had much time to dig through it. Between stay at home dadding and working on thesis for my MFA, I don’t have much free time. And it has to be Adolin. Dude’s always looking hella sharp. Hook me up Mr. Kholin.
  2. My Cinnamon Toast Crunch would disagree with you. Or my Cinnabon. Or anything with cinnamon really. And any two powers… well, my answers will be on the assumption that I’ll have access to the proper investiture needed to fuel those powers. My first answer is strictly for ease of life. My second answer is more for coolness, but there are obviously other benefits. One: Breath. As if perfect pitch (Pitch Perfect?) isn’t enough, there’s agelessness and awakening? Sign me up. The second is definitely surgebinding, specifically that of a truthwatcher. The healing value is incalculable, the plant bit neat. But imagine all the fun I could have with lightweaving.
  3. Anyone else having trouble finding a good copy of the book? I bought one from Target only to find some of the pages glued together. I returned it and the only other copy they had on the shelf was similarly messed up in addition to having the jacket glued to the actual book.
  4. @J. Magi Thanks. And like? No. Despise? Loathe? Curse their ancestors? Very much so. They’re just soooo dry. Even the ones people swear aren’t. Least favorite Brandon character is easy. David from the Reckoners. The combination of whiny and over-usage of bad metaphors as a character trait almost made me stop reading them. It’s a good thing superheroes are so cool. Like, forever and always. No matter how many bad Green Lantern/Venom/Fantastic Four movies they make, I’ll always be going full Robert Munsch on them.
  5. @Through The Living Glass I think I read pretty much everything with the exception of the Alcatraz books. I read the first one and while the world seemed neat, I couldn’t handle pretty much everything else. Probably just that I’m not in that demographic. Of course I’m partial to WoT, but beyond that I think my favorite non-Cosmere book is Rithmatist. Of the Cosmere… that’s tough. Yumi is still fresh in my mind, and I always reference Hero of Ages when I talk about capitalizing on narrative breadcrumbs. And for where on Roshar… that totally depends on which novel’s timeline we’re in. Or perhaps pre-Way of Kings. Rampant war paired with storms from TWO directions?!… no thank you. If I could reasonably not fear for my life, I’m thinking Azir. While I may find their belief system silly, the rest of their way of life seems agreeable. Also, assuming there’s no assassin in white out to get me, my wordsmithing could get me quite far.
  6. Hi all. I was at the airport the other day and talking with the gate worker and after giving my name (yes, Taveren is my actual last name), we had a crazy convo. Apparently there’s a character in WoT named after them and their kid is in Stormlight. Ridiculously neat. Anyway, I enjoyed the chat so much I figured I should go somewhere to have more chats like that. So here I am.
