  1. Were they? I don't know if I saw them mentioned as such. I don't think it's ever defined specifically, but it does list people who are Originators. I think they always refer to her as the Ascendant Warrior. Poor Elend is just referred to as her husband usually.
  2. I thought of her myself, but the Originators are supposed to have been people who survived as far as I know.
  3. Except originally that was Marsh's work. The phrasing just makes me think it means something more specific. Or more direct.
  4. I just finished re-reading Alloy of Law and there are two things I was wondering. I've looked and haven't seen these mentioned anywhere. Spoilers for Alloy of Law obviously. First, do we know anything about how Marsh got his second eye spike back? Second, when he's talking to Marasi he says that Wax does his brother's work. What exactly is this referring to? Obviously his brother is Kelsier, but how is Wax doing his work? At first I was thinking that Marsh just knew that Wax was an agent of Harmony and he meant brother more metaphorically.
  5. Several of those WoB I'd seen, but I hadn't seen the one about a Seon/Skaze turning into something akin to a Shardblade, or the one about the bond being the same. I know we don't have as much to go on, but is there any indication that the Seons/Skaze come from Shadesmar?
  6. First let me start by saying that every time I try to research and read up on the Cosmere I remind myself that I'm not smart enough to have a clue what's going on. It's like finding myself down a rabbit hole but not knowing what a rabbit is. I've looked through the forums and not seen any discussion of this, and that may be because it's fairly obvious, or maybe because I'm not search for the right things. If Spren can bond with people and are cognitive beings from Shadesmar, and Seons bond with people (though differently than Spren do), are the Seons also cognitive beings from Shadesmar? What about Awakened objects? Vasher apologizes to objects when he takes his breath back. Is Awakening an object pulling the consciousness of a spren type being from Shadesmar into the object? Or is the similarity I'm seeing because Spren and Seons are both splinters (I think I read that somewhere)
  7. Right, but he has multiple powers and he's a Gifter on top of them.
  8. I don't know, he's still awfully powerful. He's powerful enough to fight SH, heal himself and then he gifts David enough power to heal his hand.
  9. There might be something to that. He does seem more powerful than Conflux, or to at least have more powers.
  10. I wonder if the relative power levels have anything to do with the behavior? While in terms of energy outpout, Conflux is pretty powerful, but compared to Prof who has multiple powers, he isn't.
  11. That's why I think there's more to it, some piece we don't have yet. Some other option the epics have that will allow them to be more like Heroes, or at the very least, capable of using their powers and not going crazy.
  12. I just finished Steelheart today. I've read through many of the forum posts and I didn't see one that was discussing Gifters in general. I think there is something special about Gifters. Gifters are supposed to be pretty rare, which makes them special for that reason, but I can't help but think there's something else about them. Something that let's them become Gifters to begin with. Out of the three gifters we know of (unless I'm missing others that were mentioned), Prof, Conflux, and Digzone, two (and depending on Digzone's identity, all) of them are....not benevolent exactly. Maybe lacking in evil. I would say they maybe even have the capacity for Good. Obviously Prof has the capacity to be influenced by the powers, we see that pretty clearly. We don't really see anything of Edmund being influenced by his powers. The one time we see him using them, or are told about it, he was only trying to power a microwave. I'm wondering if this has something to do with why they're Gifters? Is it their lack of desire for power in the first place that allows them to give their power to others? Maybe the Gifters will end up being the "Heroes" the Faithful are waiting for?
  13. I've looked and haven't been able to find any discussion of what this illustration is. It must be something very obvious, but I can't figure out what. I assume it must be one of the fabrials, but which one? http://brandonsanderson.com/images/wok/tWoK_NAVANI-1-webres.jpg
