    Hmm Running away might be difficult to pass Cuz being outside, sleeping without shelter, is pretty much a death sentence in that cold.

    In book one, the wolf dog mutt things that hunt her down are implied to at least metaphorically to be mutt versions of the dead contestants.

    Character looks good! Proposition: the twist in book 1 is applied to here and when a contestant dies, the hydra spine gains a head. That might be one spore tho.
