Just found this. I too think Kaladin has the potential to become the next odium vessel. When Kaladin spends time working with his dad, Lirin proposed what Kaladin would have become had he stayed a surgeon and tempered his passion. The entire conversation happens after the fused first take over the tower. The idea being that Kaladin may finally see how his passion while noble has also broken him and this sets him up to control the odium share as he can take benefit from his restraint.
