I’m sorry but I don’t like it. It’s not Michael Whelan’s art especially…but for my taste most of the fantasy book covers are extremely cheesy (I don’t know if it’s the right word… I’m not a native speaker). I can’t imagine why the aesthetic appeal of fantasy reader has to be like this. Maybe I’m prejudiced because I studied art…but I think that they try too hard to get the details right…and it gets cheesy. I’m sorry. I don’t want to offend anyone. It’s just the way I feel and I wondered for some time if anybody feels the same way…

I've just finished reading it (for the first time). And I feel kind of stunned. I wish I could erase my memory of reading it so I could have this experience of not knowing back...and read it all over again. I love when books do that to you…

...First I should say that English isn't my first language. So I hope you don't feel bothered by my lack of grammar:) I was born in Poland, but I've lived now for 24 years in Germany... I love reading. Every time I belive an author to be great I read all of his books...and then I become devastated because I'm through with them all and have to search for another one that I like. Some time ago I was again in this critical state of mind... and I kind of found Brandon Sanderson:) I'm really glad I did. I've came along his name many times. But I didn't read his books... because I didn't like the covers. I know this is very superficially. But how come so many really cool fantasy books have extremely ugly covers?? ...so...with this logic I decided that the Mistborn trilogy has to be a great piece of work! And I was right! (But I find the cover still very annoying...) So...I'm looking forward to read and talk about the worth of a soul an also the books with you guys...and practice my english by the way:)
