    "Practice, and I've seen people carry a couple crossbows so they can shoot each one before loading." He keeps going, missing, hitting, missing again. "We should switch targets, or else I'll end up only being able to hit that specific tree."

    The sparks go easily, but they are messed up. You can't put them back in the well of magic where they are supposed to be. The metal starts to make more of them.

    Alvar reloads the crossbow and tries again. On try three and four, he hits, but try five misses again. "How do you load these things faster?"

    Alvar points the crossbow at it, but the shot goes wide. "This will take a while, won't it." he says, sighing.

    "I assume that includes you. Do they have any actual archmages? I've been wanting to find a source on them, so I can start the process."

    Nick does the cheekiest, most irritating bow he can muster. “Ta-da!”

    "Actually, pain is a negative emotion too." Nick pokes Sleeper. "Of course, if it's useful it's not annoying, so it's not useful, so it's not annoying." He continues.

    "Cawthorn, then." Olvax hasn't heard of an enchanting school; perhaps he could ask this Wanderer about it if he was hired.

    Olvax raises an eyebrow, and that eye changes, the pupil becoming a slit. "So you want to hire me?"

    Alvar loads his own crossbow, trying to replicate the movement. He does succeed, but not quickly.
