  1. These are all great! Lol “The Magic Down Under” does sound like it’s a Tour Pamphlet for Australia or something, but it’s still funny. What about Shining Down? I also really like Cities of the Deep, though I will say it sounds like an Atlantis themed book so I might have to tweak it a bit.
  2. Good idea! I might use that, thanks!
  3. It’s pretty cool, I live in one of the less impressive parts, but there are some pretty cool things around. I’ve wondered for a while what it would be like to visit Arizona during the summer and compare it to Texas.
  4. Hi Stick! Nice to meet you! And thanks, you seem pretty cool as well! I can definitely relate to the procrastination, I have all 80s and above this semester and that’s the best I’ve had in years. (Mostly because Geometry is somehow easier for me to do than stuff like Algebra [probably because I can see what‘s happening]) We visit my grandpa sometimes and I forgot my throwing knives at his house so I have long while until I can use them again. I’ve wanted to learn archery for a long time but haven’t had a chance.
  5. I’m writing a book for a creative writing class and I don’t have the full story, but I have to make a title and a cover and turn it in today. Can y’all give me suggestions for the book title? Here’s some info: It’s fantasy, takes place on Earth, with all the major cities and such, but the gimmick is that they’ve all sunk into the ground and they rest in giant caverns, and people are required to go down into the caverns to retrieve valuable technology. The main 2 Characters are Eleanor “Nell” (insert last name here) and her Brother (Insert name here[I had a name idea but I scrapped it]) Nell is a major noble but doesn’t want to be. Her brother hates this and so is kinda a jerk to her. The magic system hasn’t been worked out yet, but I have ideas for it to be tied to crystals (unsure yet, so it may change) Any ideas? If so, lemme know
  6. Nice! I’ve never seen it (musicals aren’t really my jam, but it looks kinda entertaining) to be completely honest I didn't watch it because it sounded dumb (I know I know it’s a bad excuse, especially for a thing so many people have watched and enjoyed) but I was listening to some really old History That Doesn’t Suck episodes and Prof. Greg Jackson mentioned it so I’ve been interested in it for a while now. Also the most notable thing that happened on Valentines day was that I made a deal with my friend to buy some Chocolate covered Strawberries )I wrote that before people started mentioning how they didn’t like him as a person, and I completely forgot what he did, what’d he do that was bad? Also sorry for posting twice in quick succession)
  7. HA! Same, except I’m in Creative Writing. We had an assignment where we had to write a 12 line love poem without the word “Love” in it. I don’t like love poems, or romance books, or romance shows, or really anything that focuses on romance (I’m fine with reading the Cosmere books with a bit of Romance in them [e.g. Elantris, Mistborn, etc] because it’s not a lot) but I have to do what I have to do. I also have a thing where I have to come up with a cover and the names of 3 three chapters for my book that I’m writing, but I don’t have 3 full chapters, just scraps of information that I’m gonna combine. (I was thinking about just using the standard “no cover available” cover but changed my mind.) Sorry for the super long reply lol
  8. That’s great! yea I live in Texas so in the Summer it’s sweltering and in the Winter… well… it’s either freezing or it’s just a tiny bit chilly. Glad its a good day for you!
  9. 😮 your background image on your profile is awesome!

    1. Mags

      Mags

lol thanks, it's a scene from the Ghibli movie Arrietty! The backgrounds are all hand-painted and really pretty!!

      Through the Living Questio

You’re welcome! I haven’t seen that one, but then again I’ve only seen 2 Studio Ghibli movies. (I really need to watch more)

  10. How are you on this fine winter morning?
  11. Whatever you want lol! - (theres too many comments for my brain to handle quoting them all, so here’s my response to the Destiny related ones): I have seen people play warlock in Crucible and dang, they can pretty much team wipe when using their super. I main solar and stasis for hunter, so I can’t really do that. I love the different solar throwing knives, especially knife trick, and for stasis (despite it being the only stasis melee for hunters) I like Withering Blade a lot. (Me enjoying destiny throwing knives so much that I want to learn it, so I get actual throwing knives from my dad for Christmas) - JM and Raven Thank’s for the nicknames, I’ll use them!
  12. Thank you! Nice! Same, I think I’ve played warlock once, if that
  13. Jeez, that’s a hard one, (actual spoilers in this one, if you haven’t read Rhythm of War, don’t click on the spoiler) It’s been fine tbh, I don’t spend money on it so I don’t have the season pass, but I have been enjoying Riven’s Wishes and am looking forward to getting Outbreak Perfected with my new ascendant shards (wait a minute…)
  14. Justice Magician and Raven (can I call you that?), thank you for teaching me this. I’d say my favorite kind of bagel is the Dave’s Killer Bread Blueberry Bagel. Hi Rae! I’m enjoying it a lot, it’s a great book, and Tress of the Emerald Sea is an amazing one. I main Hunter, but I think that TItan is also pretty fun.
  15. That’s great! Yea, I’m not a morning person, but I have 30 minutes of laughing and making jokes with a friend on the bus to wake me up beforehand. Also, thank you!
  16. Hello, fellow new person! I too don’t have many people around me who read long series, and if they do, it’s a Romance or Horror or some other genre I don’t read. Working as a CT & X-Ray Tech sounds really cool, and seeing the photo of your dog put a huge grin on my face for the rest of 1st period today (which happens to be my Creative Writing class lol) I will check out your book suggestions. Nice to meet you Rae, have a nice day!
  17. I’m relatively new here, I’ve had an account for a while, although it was mostly just for liking posts and stuff. I’m still in high school, so I’m not on here often. My name on here is WhyEverNot_8, but that’s fairly long, so just feel free to call me Why, and if you come up with something else, just let me know. I have read a large number of Cosmere books, I’m currently working my way through the novellas (I’m on The Frugal Wizard’s Handbook for Surviving Medieval England) I enjoy reading which has led me to want to be a book editor/writer. I am in my school’s Creative Writing class and am working on a book of my own (no title yet, sorry) I have D&D sessions quite often with some good friends of mine, and I play a lot of video games (Tears of the Kingdom, Destiny 2, No Man’s Sky, Hollow Knight, Monster Hunter: World, Horizon Zero Dawn, Minecraft, just to name a few.) I enjoy learning new grammatical structures, but I still can’t figure out where to put the dang punctuation when you’re ending a sentence with parentheses. )Sorry for the long-winded introduction haha) Have a nice day, Why
