Eyes to See by Nassise ended up being pretty good, with a few annoyances spread throughout. Songs of the Earth by Cooper was really mediocre and full of boring meandering right through to the poor ending. Reading Expedition to the Mountains of the Moon by Hodder now. So happy to be back to this story. Lovin it.

I don't know what I last updated on. So Low Town (Daniel Polansky): Pretty mid-level. Lots of stuff mashed together and a really linear story. Run (Michaelbrent Collings): Didn't much care for this one. Mostly mediocre until the end, which brought it down. Killing Rites (M.L.N. Hanover--Daniel Abraham): Absolute awesome. I can't say enough good about this author and his stuff. Burned through it. Eyes to See (Joseph Nassise): Bout halfway through. Pretty good so far. Vaguely reminds me of Dresden in voice.

Finished Fenrir. Poor ending, as expected. Oh well. Started The Crimson Pact, Vol 2, today. Steve's got a couple of stories in it.

Reading Fenrir by MD Lachlan. Step down from Wolfsangel, which is too bad. Saw an ad up to get the first eBook in Daniel Abraham's urban fantasy series for $4. Something to do with ComicCon. Anyhow, thought that was way cool. I already own it, and would recommend it to anyone that likes the Urban. Apparently there are a couple handfuls of other book that are going for the same price as well. I love me a good sale. $4 books

House of Chains. All I can say so far is: Karsa freaking Orlong--just whoa, cool. Loving this.

My favorites: Long Price Quartet by Daniel Abraham -- Absolutely awesome eastern-based fantasy. First book was solid. Second was really good. Third blew my socks off. Fourth was a near perfect ending. Seriously good stuff here. Also, I've enjoyed just about everything else he's written under this name and his pseudonyms (MLN Hanover--UrbanFantasy, James SA Correy--SciFi) Prince of Nothing Trilogy by Scott Bakker -- Seriously cool series, though the second trilogy is shaping up to really be less than stellar. Engineer Trilogy by KJ Parker -- Just about everything in this series pushed my buttons. Loved it. But then of course, I'm an engineer. Serial Killer books by Dan Wells -- Awesome. Just. Sheer. Awesome. READ HIM! Malazan book of the fallen by Steven Erikson -- As with what has been said previously, read the first three books before you give up on this series. Third book was the goods. I had issues with the first two. Took two tries to get through the first, and three tries to get through the second. Third one I blew through without issue and loved every minute of it. Don't let this one pass you by. Abercrombie rocks. Everything he writes is really good. Though Best Served Cold did drag on a bit for me near the end. Heroes rocked the block. Can't wait for A Red Country. Burton and Swinburne books by Mark Hodder -- Alternate Victorian Steam-punked History and WAY fun. Though the second was better than the first, I'm so stoked for the third to come out later this year. Jasper Kent's Danilov Quintet -- Three books out now. Seriously good stuff here. Starts in Twelve with REAL vampires in the Napoleonic wars against Russia. No sun-sparkly pansies here. Anything by Alastair Reynolds. Can't get enough of this guy. Though he really does write SciFi and not Fantasy. One of the few SciFi authors that I really dig. Scott Lynch has a lot of good stuff in the Gentlemen Bastard series that he's doing too. It's been a while since the second book came out, but I'm glad to see that he's been doing much better lately with his personal life and am really excited for Republic of Thieves.

Half-made world ended up being really good, but it would have been nice to know ahead of time that it was only the first half of a story. Still, great read. Reading Blackdog by K.V. Johansen right now. If I can get past all of the POV-character introductions (like eight different ones so far...), it might end up being good. We'll see.

Finished Moxyland. Pretty immersive book and an interesting and fun read. Started The Half-Made World by Felix Gilman today and I'm totally hooked. So glad I picked this one up. Hope it keeps being goodness. Noticed a back-cover quote from Brandon about a previous book of his, so it probably will.

No more TWG. Found the new place. Huzzah! Reading Moxytown by Lauren Beukes right now. Pretty good, but was tough to get into the multiple first-person viewpoints. Really interesting stuff. Also just read: Dark Jenny by Alex Bledsoe (meh) The Fallen Blade by Jon Courtenay Grimwood (yerk!) The Crimson Pact, Vol 1, edited by Paul Genesse (Coolness) The Enterprise of Death by Jesse Bullington (Fun) Need to read me another Malazan book. So far behind on that one. But Thirteen Years later (Jasper Kent) is totally calling my name...
