  1. @Ambroz Sounds great. Sent you a direct message with my contact info
  2. Who is signed up for the D&D and other RPGs at the convention? I got a ticket for the Competitive D&D Heat 4 on Tuesday at 1:00. I have no idea who the other players are I'm playing with but I'm looking forward to that. If you're playing in that session (or any of the other competitive heats) I'd love to hear about it. And I would really love to get tickets to any of the other RPG sessions. I signed up to have the TableTop Events system email me if tickets come available. I have had a handful of email notifications in the last few days that a ticket became available and I pounce immediately but they are always gone by the time I log into the system. If you have a ticket to any of the RPG sessions and you aren't going to use it, I would love to work something out with you wink wink nudge nudge
  3. @AmbrozDid you figure out what to do with the badges you aren't going to use? I'm trying to talk someone into joining me at the con. A discount on a badge might help sway them.
  4. Oh I see, it's all text based within a thread on the forums here. I don't think I'll be active enough to play then. I'm the kind of participant on this kind of forum that disappears for weeks at a time and doesn't even realize people have answered my questions.
  5. I'm interested. How does this format work? I'm new to the forum. Do you play at specific times? Do you use an online portal like Roll20, or Foundry, or FGU?
  6. For Dragonsteel 2023, I got the last ticket for the Competitive D&D Heat 4 - Tuesday at 1:00pm. How do I find out who the other six players are in that group? I didn't get my ticket to this year's convention until just this week, so most of the role-playing games were full. I would love a chance to get into any of the other RPGs. If anyone decides they can't make it to their session of the Mistborn RPG, Stormlight RPG, or the Casual one-shot or murder mystery D&D, I would love to fill in for you!
  7. Exactly. Life in danger. Must perform now. Grief shoved aside until adrenaline flushes out of system. Then the moment the emergency has passed, that's when someone collapses and allows themselves to feel. That's real. People in combat or first responders will tell you how many times they've seen someone who witnessed something awful push that truth out of their head because they can't afford to acknowledge it yet. Sig would literally give that grief about three words of acknowledgment and then shove it right back out of his head. I think the way Brandon wrote it is literally the right proportion for the moment.
  8. In Brandon's defense, I will say I really connected with that moment where Sig talks to Aux out of habit and then is flooded with pain again because Aux is gone. I've lived that moment in real life. I see that moment replayed in lots of books and movies because so many people who have gone through that kind of grief can identify with doing the same thing.
  9. I just want to say how happy I am that they opened the crafts up this year to make them available to everyone. I went to the first day of Dragonsteel 2022, but I didn't know about it until the day of the event, so everything cool was sold out. Couldn't make any crafts, couldn't get a book for the release party, couldn't get into any games. I figured I saw everything worth seeing on day one and I didn't come back for the second day last year. I can already tell I'm going to have a better experience this year.
