    Writings
A little while ago, I wrote a prologue for a story idea I had. I never even started the rest of the story, but I kinda like it on its own, even if most of the ideas for the story aren't there yet. Part of the reason I stopped writing for it was because I created two really interesting characters for the prologue... and then killed off both of them. And then the 'real' protagonist didn't seem as fun. Clearly I need to learn from Brandon, and make my Cenn character not as interesting as my Kaladin.
Anyway here's the prologue (with profanity censored as to follow the rules of this site). Let me know what y'all think.

Earlier this year, for theatre class, I wrote this comedic one act play as an assignment. It's alright, I suppose. Do note that it's unfinished, because there was a page limit, and I was trying to come up with an ending that fit, but the plot is still resolved at the end of what I wrote.

Taking a little break from stuff I wrote in the past, this is something I wrote with my writing club just yesterday.
The premise is that everyone starts a story, then passes it along to the next person after 5 minutes, until it goes back around to the original person. This is the cool wacky formatted story that I started. Note that only the underlined text was written by me, and a \ symbol indicates a change in writer. Also the line spacing is weird, idk why.
Corporate horror wasn't my original intention, but I love where this was taken. Reminds me of some SCP Foundation writing.

    Musings
When I was in a very Brandon Sanderson phase of my life, I created a nameless setting that I wrote a few works in. Originally, it would have spanned the whole universe, but the only two things I wrote were on the same planet, Flers.
(From a comment on another blog post)
Anyway, I'll just dump setting information, and mention what I like at the end.
So, initially, humanity is just on the planet Flers, on an island continent in the south. A group who has basically monopolized the magic system is taking over, and plans a grand ritual thing that will genocide everyone not a part of them. However, a man named Xeflerx sabotages the ritual, causing it instead to teleport them all away to a safe place instead. He ends up on a new continent to the north, where he founds the kingdom of Xefleara. This ends up sending a large number of the refugees to other habitable planets as well, as the spell would "take them to a safe place" without distance necessarily being a factor.
A group of these refugees create "The Syndicate of the Great Gem", a space-faring organization that takes over a large number of planets, and have very advanced magitech stuff. They are led by the "Supreme General", a man who has had his lifespan increased thanks to implants of gemstone, and he aims for the "Great Gem", a gemstone that will supposedly grant greater power than all others. (This gemstone, as it turns out, is citrine, and it's power is to control other gemstones)
Meanwhile in Xefleara, over a thousand years later, a couple create a gateway to another dimension of beings that consume heat, and the husband ends up mind-controlled by them, who use him to take over the kingdom. These beings, known as the wraiths, prefer consuming the heat of humans, and so institute a system where criminals are thrown to them. They are unable to leave a certain radius most of the time, because sunlight and moonlight destroys them if they go too far away from their portal. At the end of my novella, one of the protagonists manages to take control of the wraiths from the king, and begins planning to take back the kingdom.

Anyway I like the Syndicate. I didn't talk much about them, but they have some cool aesthetics, and I like looking at the humans in super huge powerful organizations.

About two years ago, I wrote one novella and four short stories in a setting of my own creation. I've looked down on it as weaker writing, but now that I'm looking back, I think there are things worth salvaging. My short story collection especially, as I wrote it later.
One of the things I did was add little "Syndicate logs", information from a mysterious organization from space throughout the collection, to shed light on their motives and plans. I'll put them below. Without context of the setting, they won't be completely understandable, but I thought I'd put them down here. They're similar to the epigraphs throughout The Stormlight Archive.
The writing is mid of course, but I'm kind of in love with the last one. The idea of having all these cold clinical logs, and then just having one that's created by an inexperienced newbie to show the human element seems quite fun. As such, I hope to do something similar.
In fact, I'm thinking my next large project will be a collection of interconnected short stories, with something like thing (but better) in the background. Something like Isaac Asimov's I Robot or Robot Dreams.
Let me know if y'all have any thoughts.

This was also something I made at that writing camp, this one had a bit more work put into it, but I don't like it as much because the gayness isn't the focus of the story, and the poor writing I feel like is more noticable. I also accidentally stole House of Leaves's colored text gimmick without knowing about it. (Also copy+paste is weird, the colored text is supposed to also be bold, but for some reason the entire document is bold. Ah well.
