    "It's close now. Like a quarter mile tops." Elan points towards the forest that was now right in front of them. --- "Ah! Haha! He moves!" Gem says, falling away laughing.

    Elan whooped, letting go of Aventine when they landed. "Great. Now... walking. More walking. Yay!" --- "Bro I swear I could kiss you right now and you would do literally nothing."

    Elan grabbed hold of her tightly, nodding. --- Gem wheezed, laughing so hard he couldn't breathe.

    "Can you get us up to there?" Elan nods his head up to the other side of the cliff. "There's a metal trapdoor you could push off of... somewhere under the water around here." --- Gem laughed, rolling off the bed to land alongside him. "Bro you are like a limp fish."

    "Not your fault, just misinformed. I was under the impression you only had emotional Allomancy." --- "Yesssssssss!" Gem hopped into Kio's bed and began trying to roll him towards the edge. When the light hit the Queen she screamed, something unearthly, almost choral. It rang throughout the worlds, splitting the air. The wave of darkness began destroying everything it touched. The walls and ground where it hit turned a pale ghostly white, peeling away from reality, then disappearing into nothingness.

    "... had I known that we wouldn't have climbed down here." --- "Then I'll climb in your bed and force you out." Gem said, grinning. The darkness around the Queen exploded outwards at the same time, colliding with the light from TAAron.

    "You can do that?" --- Gem started laughing. "C'mon man, get up!" A halo of black began forming around the Queen, her power coalescing to destroy this insolent mortal. "I AM NOT."

    "You can swim, right?" --- Gem climbed out of bed, went over to Kio, and shook his shoulder a little. "Hey, you up?" There were no more magical connections left. Just her.

    The Queen glared at him, eyes glowing a strange black. A strong wind blew through the room, and when she spoke next it was a booming chorus of voices. "AND YOU THINK THAT I CAN BE STOPPED? I CANNOT DIE. I CANNOT BE LOCKED AWAY. I AM A FORCE OF NATURE, AND I WILL ALWAYS, ALWAYS BE VICTORIOUS." Elan led the way, climbing until they reached the river running through the bottom. --- Back in the tunnels, Gem woke up.

    The Queen looked at him, blood dripping from her hand, a look of rage on her face. "WHY."

    She locked eyes with Meron, looking at him sadly. Then she turned to Mark. "Mark... I'm so sorry."

    After a couple miles they reached a large gorge, stretching into the distance on either side. "Hm. Forgot this was here. We can go ahead and climb down." The Queen stiffened, eyes locking with his. "What did you do."

    He takes her hand and leads her. "It's a few miles in this realm, then a couple in the next. We should be able to hijack a car once we get there though."

    "Welcome to the Empire of Shadow. Er- formerly. We'll be moving away from the city." He gestures into the distance where a black skyline stretches into the sky.

    "Yeah. Yeah okay." Elan says after a second. After a bit they had reached the surface. A blue sky stretched into infinity, a cracked dry landscape spreading all around them.

    Elan stiffened, then nodded, starting to walk again in silence.

    "Okay then." They began the trek upwards to the surface.

    "Okay. Let's go the surface land and... do we want to go by trebuchet or walk?"

    "I have no idea. The one time I even tasted it I regretted it. So I'm vetoing that option. How about... we go to the nearest Walmart? It's like... a bunch of miles and one transition between dimensions away."
