    Aydri pulled out the toasted bread, and put an over easy egg on top. Then she looked up. “Cedar? You okay?”

    “Yeah!” She said, looking up and smiling at him as she sliced some bread and put it in the oven.

    “Great.” Aydri said, cracking an egg into a pan

    “Good morning!” She said. “Eggs for breakfast?”

    “Yeah?” Aydri said, somehow hearing him from across the hall.

    Owen nodded. “Feet together… yeah, you must’ve had good mentors.”

    She blinked, surprised, then hugged Cedar back, tightly.

    “You’re the one having soul trouble, and I shouldn’t be letting you sacrifice your comfort.”

    “Okay. Come, hop on in.” Aydri said, lifting up the blankets. “I’ll sleep on the couch.”

    She nods. “There’s space here, or you or I can get on the couch.” She gestures to a couch in the corner.

    Aydri took a deep breath. “Cedar… we need to fix this.” She laughs, not happily though. “We keep reiterating that, don’t we.”

    “Come, sit down.” Aydri said. “Want to talk about it?”
