Had a rough day. Can't really sit still right now. Struggling to focus. Didn't get enough sleep.  Just wanted to leave yinz with a little message. Make sure you remember to drink water, get sleep, and eat food.

I know I'm not exactly loving myself right now and I know I might sound like a hypocrite, but please go love yourself. I know its hard. Its really really really hard to love yourself. I expect perfection of myself and it has come back to bite me horribly. Stand in front of the mirror a thousand times and say it to yourself over and over. Here's what I need to tell myself honestly.

I am trying.

I see that I am trying.

I am doing my best.

But life sometimes gets the best of me.

I want to love myself.

But its hard to love something you hate. 

But others love me, so I should love me too.

I am loved by a wonderful God. 

I should also love myself.

Beauty standards change day in and day out. 

But my faith remains the same. 

I may be soaked with tears, but tears do dry. 

I might be shaking with fear, but darkness only lasts for some time. 

I am holding myself here because I'm scared to see the other side. 

I need to let go, be vunerable, less skeptical, and more hopeful. 

Stop boxing yourself in. 

You're not just the word pessimist, you're a person who struggles to love more than hate.

You're not just the word introvert, you're a person who wishes they were alone so they could feel less lonely. 

You're not just the word therapist, you're a person who would rather suffer instead of others. 

You're not just the word perfectionist, you're a person who is afraid to try and when you do, afraid to fail.

You're not just the word people pleaser, you're a person who places joy in other peoples joy.

You're not just the word deep, you're a person who has though the hardest thoughts.

But.

These do not define you. 

You are not defined by your looks. 

You are not defined by your name. 

You are not defined by your body.

You are not defined by your shame. 

You are not defined by how you cope. 

You are not defined by your fame. 

You are not defined by your friends.

You are not defined by your family. 

You are not defined by your grades.

You are not defined by your job. 

You are not defined by the words that people call you, good or bad. 

You find your identity in your Lord, in your creator, and the beauty of the creation.
