“Let’s go find a shade. Look for smaller but more common ripples.

She would, right? Daniel wasn’t lying, he hoped.
“Probably. Here, let’s follow these,” she said, pointing to a consistent spread of ripples.
“Do you see these ripples?” Helda asked, motioning to almost invisible waves off the void. “They come from places of change. We should be able to follow them to a large area of change, we just need to single out the biggest ripples.”
“Yes, a shade. They aren’t quite humans, they’re the people that have been wandering here so long that their souls are ripped to shreds piece by piece until they no longer are who they were at all.”
